Xmas tree - worth it????

This is our first Christmas with Kovu. We put our tree up in Elijah's room and we have a baby gate up so Kovu can't get in. Surprisingly he doesn't even try to climb it. We have some plastic star ornaments on it, nothing breakable. We let Kovu go in SUPERVISED throughout the day while Elijah is playing. Hoping that maybe next year we'll be able to have it in the living room. If not, Elijah will just be the lucky dude with the tree in his room from here on out.

So I put up the Christmas tree this past weekend.......The tree itself, Aniyah handled it wonderfully. The lights, well she attacked the string of them while I was putting them on the tree but once they were on, no problem. Next, the string of beads......yeah uh no.....she jumped INTO the middle of the tree immediately and got tangled up. A noose waiting to happen. The beads came right back off and that was a chore! So, the end result is a tree with lights and a sad looking angel on top Looks pitiful with the lights off so we keep them on to camouflage the bareness of it all!

Second guessing trying to put up the tree. Put together 2 for outside the front doors and Dolos had a ball with them. Crawled all through them and while trying to put up some of the inside decorations, both cats decided to get in on the action. Must admit, it was pretty funny watching them steal my stuff. Maybe I'll try just the bottom section and see what the do.

So far Lily and Isis have climbed the tree. This black cat is one of my saved from the wild.

Loki has not messed with the tree...Amazing... he was lying under it, but since he got snipped on Monday, he has not messed with lying under it....He has not pulled anyting off or chewed up anything...we did go with plastic and bows this year...no glass...just to be safe....

I got some pine scented oil which Tojo hates and every few days I put some on a cotton pad and dab it around the tree and anything else I want him to leave be and so far (crossing fingers) so good-plus our house smells festive

Isis balancing on a chair top to get into the tree. Loki did not like getting told NO and he gave us that look, then he went and got his toy so he looked like he was playing with it and not the tree.
