Diamond Pet Food Recall

Problem is salmonella is increasing in livestock and fowl production, and products from this are used in pet food, and are not always handled with enough care

You would think the industry would have learned from the debacle a few years ago from contaminated food made in China to mad cow meat used in pet food to salmonella. It's ironic that people opposed to a raw food diet often claim possibility of contamination from E-coli and salmonella as reasons not to feed raw but most of the major breaking news is coming from the commercial pet food industry. More testing & regulation is needed I suppose.

Called my parents and yep, their 30 lb open bag is in the recall and their dogs have diarrhea. I'm really hope we haven't been affected. We have two more bags being delivered tomorrow this time for our cats.

I've been nauseated since mid-day and I told all my co-workers it must have been the meat in the sandwich and then I find out about the recall later in the day. Over the weekend I had opened the new bag with them and handled the dog food all night.

I've been on hold with Diamond Pet foods for over 20 minutes now. A lot of people must be calling in about their recalled product.

I hear ya HappyS... I was on hold with them yesterday and when I talked to someone; I was on the phone for over an hour...they had me talk to all types of people over there. Just a real crappy situation..I hope you feel better! My son started getting sick on Saturday morning, and I started yesterday. Only one of my cats(so far) has been sick...he just vomited a few times and diarrhea; but the other cat seems fine so far. Everyone else in my house is ok so far, as well. We only got this food on Tuesday, So I guess it's good it was only a few days in our house. I threw the whole thing out yesterday after I talked with Diamond and got my refund. I really hope you feel better, soon! But it may take a couple days to run its course, that's what my son's doctor told us this morning.....and drink plenty of fluids!

I was def affected by this recall. I had been very sick off and on for three weeks and couldn't figure out why. My Cat's TOTW was ok the bag didn't match the recall but My Dogfood did! Omg My Poor Dog had been sick off and on . Unfortunately The Dog food had all been used before I realized that it Was recalled. Guess I Will have to check the recalls before getting pet food from now on. Don't want to go through that again!
