I walk my F1 on a 25 ft leash and he usually catches 2-5 moles each walk. I let him kill them but snatch them away before he eats them... Every once in awhile he will bite the head off...

My question is... Do you guys allow the wild side out and let them eat what they catch? I'm thinking about buying white mice from the pet store. The mice would be healthier than the moles...

Your thoughts??

Don´t! It will provoke too many, and anyway is not quite the thing when you look at legislation (not to mention the outcry Ar people can make out of it)

I'm not sure l agree with letting him catch and kill moles in broad daylight...I think you may be inviting trouble there, but that is JMO.

On the other hand...zuri only eats whole prey (quail and mice)...giving her whole prey has pretty much changed her life for the better. She has a very high prey instinct and this has allowed her to get that out. You can get the mice or quail from rodentpro and other companies. I have listed them under raw food diet.

what is your boy looking at in the sink?

And are you talking about live mice?

Trish, she eats a combination of about 12-18 day old quail and the same for fuzzy mice. She is an F4 SBT, so not a huge F2...she will not eat WO (week old) quail (too large for her)...but she literally jumps up in the air and is so happy when I go to feed her...much different than when I was feeding raw...she ate it and then refused after a while...it costs me about $8/day to feed her...maybe a bit less...and the fuzzy mice are not nearly as nutritious as the regular mice, so luckily she eats quail as well.

hi,
i have a boy and girl f5 they are 4months and 3 weeks, they both weigh 9lbs, i give them a 6oz tin of meat in the morning and some biscuits, by lunch time they are driving me crazy, so they get 2oz of tin meat, then tea time they get another 6oz tin of meat and a handfull of biscuits, i'm worried that i'm feeding them to much or not enough, can anyone shed a bit of light on the subject for me.
thanks
brian..
