Do SV go through terrible twos?

For the past three days, Nyah has turned into a vampire. She comes and cuddles with me at the end of the day, normally laying on my stomach for pets while she purrs like a maniac. She has started to grab my hand and bite out of no where. I jerk my hand away, yell no! She puts her ears sideways and gives me the same evil stare my almost 15 year old does when I take her phone away. The first two times she jumped off me, yesterday she stayed on my stomache, ears swooshed to the side, making this funky meow noise. I had to push her off me, which made her mad. She runs off, and the comes back a few minutes later with her happy kitten face, sometimes with a toy, other times purring and sticking her drooling face right up in mine, smooshing her face in my hair, if she could talk she would be saying " I loooooovvvveeee yyyyoooouuuu!"

I have watched for her tail to start twitching or other signs she is over stimulated or had enough, but nothing! Just lightening fast chomp, mean kitty face, then love bug. She is 11 months old now. Is this normal teenager behavior? Obviously I can't be ok with her biting (or looking at me with that tone of voice!), so how do I correct her?

She's spayed correct? Welcome to the terrible two's. This stage will quickly pass into the teenage rebellion phase. At least you have a teenager from whom you have gained valuable experience. Be consistent with your corrections, take full advantage of time outs (for her and for you), and have a nice bottle of wine ready to firm your resolve when she decides to push all of your buttons at the same time. This advice can also be effective for handling your 15 yr old.:big grin:

OMG Zeddie too! She turned 1 on May 19th and has lately been a psycho path! When I pet her she is a grump, she has been so full of attitude, not listening, very testy...basically very very very moody! Luckily no biting (knock on wood)
I think it must be the terrible twos, and they suck!
I've recently started doing animal communication, and she said she is mad at me because I called her a baby (just like a teenager).
How long do these phases usually last?

Well Kristin, in your case, it may last a lifetime. I remember when you first posted the pic that is your avatar -- I said she was going to be a stinker because you can see the cattitude oozing out of that kitten pic. And then you went and gave her a very royal name and that sealed the deal. She is a tsarina and you are non royalty and she will try to keep you in your place.:roflmao:

With my 3, the terrible 2s and the teenage rebellion phase lasted a few months but it felt like a 100 yrs.

Cattitude is an understatement! I think she is going to keep me on my toes, although I hope some of the drama will fade a bit. She is a ton of fun, but sometimes.....:p

I feel your pain. And it doesn't help that she's stinkin' cute. It's so hard to look at that face and try to maintain authority isn't it? She'll probably settle down when she reaches full maturity but I think the diva attitude is for life -- it was for all my female cats.

Yes, she is spayed. Maybe I can just lock them both up in my human teen's bedroom for awhile.

My mom said she found 30 to be a good age... As cool as it would be to hear what she is thinking, I am grateful right now that I can't. I strongly believe she is using very unladylike language!
