That's just so awful, sounds like really poor and dire conditions to keep cats never mind breed them in. it's really sad and makes me so angry, unfortunately there are some people out there who don't have a clue in how to look after cats, and with unscrupulous breeders like that, all standards of welfare just goes out the window. I worked in cat protection for many years and all to often saw the poor babies who came from such breeders, some who most often didn't make it. I don't know how they sleep at night. I'm so happy that Slick ended up landing on his feet with you and your family at least he has been spared what sounds like would have been a very short and miserable life otherwise. Well done to you. May you have many happy years together.
