An Introduction

Hi, I am a new owner of a Savannah F3, female kitten and my name is Dana.
I named my Savannah Nala. I already had two domestic cats that are five years old, one male and one female. I wanted a female savannah because I thought my other two cats would have an easier time accepting a female than another male.
I have had her for just over a week and I swear she has access to a teleporter, because one second she is at the bottom of the stairs and without even seeing her move, she is in the upstairs bathroom. I have been keeping Nala in her own room with occasional excursions through other parts of the house. My other cats are still freaked about her. She is so bold it is amazing. One of the cats can be growling and hissing at her and she will race up and start playing with their tail. In the last 24 hours she has perfected the Halloween cat posture and it is just so darn cute.
Has anyone out there ever experience a situation where your resident cats never accepted a new savannah?

There has been tremendous progress in the last few days. My male no longer is freaked out, in fact he is amazingly relaxed around Nala. My female, Twinkle, has also made a lot of progress. I appreciate your suggestions. In my case, I think the break through was when I brought out the little mouse on a wand toy. I was playing with Nala when Pumpkin (the male) came up and started playing. I kept the cats on either side of me and shared the toy equally with both of them. The next day Twinkle watched while this was going on. I then brought out the toy you see in the picture, it has a string that it whips out and around. You turn it on, set it down and it goes by itself for about 15 minutes. You may notice in the picture Nala and Pumpkin are actively playing with it and Twinkle is closely watching, later she started playing. Things are not perfect but they are much better. Thanks for the advice.

Imagine you are a comfortable 5 year old cat with a comfortable home, a predictable owner (make that servant), with peace and tranquility all your days. .......................
And then this spotted little furry tornado arrives on the scene, and is absolutely incorrigible. Can't even keep your eyes on the little hellion as it moves so fast. And to top it off, the servants seem to think it's cute!
That's what going on right now.
Gonna take some time for this to settle out. But the success rate in the end is very high, as most of us can attest.
Witchy knows what she's talking about.

I actually got my first one for, yes, the wild look but even more for the personality. I did a lot of research because I have never purchased a cat before I have always had rescue cats, but this time I wanted a particular breed of cat. Initially I wasn't sure which breed I wanted, but after months of reading factual information, as well as personal accounts and experience, I knew it had to be a Savannah. She is wonderful.

Wow, you spotted that right away. Yes she can be quite mischievous, especially when trying to get one of my 5 year old cats to chase her.
