That's wonderful news! I am keeping my fingers crossed that he continues to behave!!

I wasn't sure if anyone wanted an update, but it feels like I should.

So I posted an ad for Dante on Purebreds Plus. It's still up there.

Then Dante suddenly started behaving. He does act up whining like a madman every so often, but not nearly as badly as he used to as recently as a few weeks ago. I can't say with 100% certainty that he hasn't peed anywhere (I'm doing some work on the place so it's a bit of a mess right now) but he hasn't peed on *me* in at least 3 weeks. I've also accidentally left my bed slightly uncovered and he hasn't tried to pee on my pillow. I feel like a miracle happened lol not sure what exactly but I'll take it.

I'm leaving the ad up for now, because he could easily revert back--he's done that before, acted all fine and then in short order started misbehaving again. But I love him and if he can stay this way, that would be the best. He has never in the past asked to be touched or picked up, but he has asked to be picked up quite a few times in the past week, and even once let me pet him--and he even pretended to enjoy it--for 5 whole minutes. I'm very encouraged, but still hesitant to believe he will stay this way.
Fingers crossed that Dante decides behaving is his best route. I wonder if you have sent him clues that caused the reaction? Maybe starting to distance yourself to get prepared for the emotions of re homing him.

I did kind of check in after reading your post. He wasn't taking you seriously before and I think he had that "oh shit she's actually going to do it" moment.
Hopefully, fingers crossed, he stays remorseful haha.

Oi!! I thought I responded earlier...its been a busy weekend sorry!!

Kovu had me cracking up, he must just have you guys in stitches! Nyah is such a sweetheart, and is really happy to look out for her brother. What a good girl:in love:

I just thought I would mention too that each animal communicates differently. Some use pictures, some use videos, some use ideas, some use thoughts, and some use feelings...and more often its a mixture of them all. This leaves me interpreting the things they are saying, so there are definitely times when the message gets mixed up in translation, or I missed the meaning. Everything is also from the animal's perspective, and they see things VERY differently then us. Just to help everyone understand some of the "?????" moments lol.
No problem! Nyah is a special girl, especially since we couldn't even touch her when we got her. I am probably projecting, but I feel like Nyah would "talk" in words, she is just a smarty pants girl. Kovu? I think a combination of words and pictures for words he doesn't know yet. Maybe I have too much time on my hands to think about these things! Kovu is hysterical, but more trying of our patience than Nyah. He is stubborn as heck, and high energy I think for even Savannahs! But he is also so loving. He really, really loves his people so it is hard to be mad at him when he loves you with as much energy as he uses to destroy the world!

You are totally right!! Nyah it was thoughts in my head, like I was thinking them myself. Kovu was idea/pictures. So funny because the second I tuned into him I was charged.....so full of energy, it just made me laugh.
I love love love seeing life from animal perspective. It is amazing what they pick up, and how we think things are logical, but they are confused by our actions, or interpret them differently.

Ps, I always feel like Nyah teases Kovu as a savannah reject because he doesn't have spots like her. He has spots, of course, and you can actually see them pretty clearly, but he is certainly not your traditional SV! He is also not the best representation of a smoke, either as he is so dark, and he isn't a Mel as he clearly has silver fur under that black. Add in that his oriental shorthair grandmother's genes came out with a vengeance in his little face, and we have our little Kovu. He is all savannah though, from his chirps, growls, hisses anything but a meow it seems! Ok, I need to go back to work, I am REALLY projecting now!

That is so funny!! It is hilarious, because I am sure you are receiving Nyah's thoughts...it is just hard to recognize sometimes. It is kind of like when you think of someone and they call you, or you say the same thing at the same time as someone else.
Before I became an animal communicator, I met a client at work who could talk to animals. I had her come to my house to talk to my "zoo". My rabbit was sweet as can be to humans, but would kick my DSH out of his sleep spots. I had the animal communicator ask him if he liked my rabbit and his answer was "rabbit?! I thought she was a funny looking cat!" LOL

Well I spoke too soon...we found where Dante was peeing, on my clothes of course. :( It's an improvement, but not much of one.
