You couldn't have found a better place to learn about the breed! I wish this forum was around before I got my SV. However, I got extremely lucky and have a wonderful boy!

What traits are you looking for in your future cat?

Welcome William. We're here to help you with your search should you need us. You're fortunate that you have a great breeder in LV -- Trish of AllEarz (hope that wasn't a politically incorrect thing to do Trish) so you can start your search close to home if you choose.

Thank you for the welcome, Trish.

Kronos, we hope to get a cat that fits with our family. We're pretty easy going, and there's always someone home to keep our cats company(if they want company). We'd like a male, hopefully larger than an average housecat. We love the exotic markings, and typical shape of the Savannah breed. Must be able to get along with our two other cats (one is an 8YO domestic female, and the other is a young male Begal).

William, I managed to integrate 3 SVs (2 F2s & 1 F6) into the house with an ill, crotchety 14 yr. old DSH female. It's taken nearly 4 yrs. for the first F2 and the F6 to establish a tolerant relationship with her. They picked on her unmercifully and treated her like a personal toy. She spent most of her time in the office and could roam the house only when the SVs were asleep. My 2nd F2 is scared to death of her. If you've managed to integrate a Bengal into your home, I'd bet you'll be successful with the SV also.

I got a tad nervous when I got the 2nd F2 as the first SVs were bonded like peanut butter & jelly and I was worried Maliik would be odd man out. It's interesting to watch the relationship between all 3 continue to develop & morph. Maliik is approaching his terrible two's and sometimes, always unsuccessfully, tries to displace the alpha. Even when cats get along as youngsters, they sometimes change as they mature. While all 3 of my SVs get along, the first 2 continually let Maliik know he is at the bottom of the ladder.

Welcome William! I am sure the Bengal's energy should work well with a Savannah. If that one gets along with your domestic, I would think adding a Savannah should be great :) Good luck with your hunt and welcome!
