Any types of grass for them?

Oat, rye, barley & wheat grasses are ok for cats. They don't need grass though. Some like it, some don't. Mine like to chew it and immediately throw it up.

It's all for the tummy, so if you like stomach acid and grass clippings on your carpet... go for it.
It does help the digestion though, and cats will know what grass they can eat.
You can buy the seeds in bulk on amazon if you plan to plant it outside or those starter cat grass containers for indoor
Try friendly herbs like catnip, valerian, mint, and lemon grass

Hi everyone, been away for sometime. Health issues are directing our life at the moment but wanted to pop on and see what and how everyone is getting on with their lives being directed by a Savannah. Emma is now 3 1/2 time flies when your truly enjoying ones life with a Savannah. Wanted to comment on grass eating. Emma prefers rye, barley or oat but won't touch wheat. I always have 3 stages of grass growing. To keep up with her demand. I have two stages growing outside and one indoors. Emma has never thrown up the grass after eating it. Upon her waking up that is the first thing she does is graze. I've ordered from 3 or 4 different sources and can't say one is better than another. During my husbands health issues ( in intensive care / trauma unit) I feel behind in the grass growing rotation and now know she doesn't eat her daily food entirely when she doesn't have abundant grass to eat. I truly believe that is why she hasn't EVER coughed up a fur ball. In addition I brush her of course more in the summer time every other day but in the winter every 2-3 days. SHE LOVES HER GRASS. I've had catnip growing from seed for months and she won't touch it. It's a very delicate pretty plant. It's always at her reach, in 6 months of growing she still has not touched it. When I take the pot and show it to her .......she runs away faster than the wind. So I just let it grow...it's a pretty plant. Go figure!

Glad to hear from you again MM3! I hope that your husband is feeling better.

Do you still grow the cat grass in the Home Depot large cement mixing containers or something smaller? My cats do graze a bit but they really like lying in the grass and my 2 large containers are looking quite pitiful at the moment. I bought some wheat grass at the Farmer's Market yesterday but Rafiki keeps tipping it over.

Thank you.
Yes he's doing much better. A car hit him while on his bicycle. He's doing much better but it has been a long road to recovery. Concussion, broken nose, collar bone broken in three places, punchard lung, 5 broken ribs and damaged his lower back L1-5.
The grass seeds I buy for her. The grass in the rubber containers is just sod pieces. I only grow her grass in the garden and another metal container outside. Inside I grow it on grow pads, once I soak them for a few days. If anyone has a place they order seed from I'd love to know the details.

Wow, it sounds like he has a long road to face, but hope that he will eventually gain a full recovery!

Ours won't tough the grass from petco, but they will devour the spindly grass from the yard. It definitely helps with digestion and they cry for it when we haven't let them out in a few days.
