You have to make sure you soak the carpet all the way through and if there's a pad under it that needs soaking also. Whatever is under the carpet and pad may also have been wet with urine.

FYI, I'm I tried an experiment last year in my office. Took up the carpet and put down a stick down vinyl floor that looks like wood. Bought it at Home Depot and it was inexpensive. It's awesome. I like it so much that I am going to replace the wood laminate floors in the whole house with a top of the line luxury vinyl plank. Perhaps the stick down vinyl would be a good solution for you if you have to get rid of the carpet.

Someone came to measure for the floors yesterday and Atticus was stuck to him like white on rice. I was surprised because the brat usually takes a minimum of 15 minutes to warm up to a stranger but this guy must of reeked of good cat energy. They had a love fest going on and the guy was here was much longer than it took to measure the floors. LOL. The magic of a savannah cat.

Yes I have been reading all the info on HOW TO with carpet. And yes, it IS in the pad. And the concrete under that too probably. If I am able to get it, it will probably take several treatments. and a couple of POST treatment carpet shampooing.

Yes, I have that same vinyl tile in the hallway in my house. I just want something soft under my feet in my living room, when I move my "living" back into it. I have not lived in it since my wife died 11 years ago.

Sounds like the fella who measured was a good Joe, if Atticus attached himself to him. And YES, the Savannah can convert a lot of ambivelent people into cat lovers.

Yeah, I like softies underfoot too. We use area rugs -- much easier to replace/clean when barfed or peed on. Geez, when I look around the house and see how many things we've changed for these cats. Locks on cabinets and now drawers because Atticus learned how to open drawers yesterday; childproof plugs in the outlets; miles and miles of wires encased in chew-proof cabling; quake-hold to keep art on the walls and breakables intact and it goes on and on and on

I think you will like the results you get with Unique Distributors, just be sure to follow the instructions explicitly, and really soak the carpet. It may take more than one application, but it will get the job done. I have heard of someone who was actually able to get urine out of a concrete floor using Unique Distributors!

Well, since I will be retireing as soon as I can (when some bills are paid off.) I have to get all my more money consuming things done and paid for before I go on a limited fixed income. Floor replacement is not prudent at this juncture. Unless I win the lottery.
