I asked the question of motivation to determine what her objective is. I'm guessing her soft food is part of her motivation. With my food motivated boy, we wait as long as possible to feed him. It's a regular feeding time, just the latest possible time slot available in the morning. Likewise, we wait for the latest time for the boys last feeding of the day. The later they go to bed with a full belly, the longer I get to sleep in.

Oh, you can also control the quantity of food if you know their daily intake. The boys get 3 feedings a day, no on-demand food, 30% breakfast, 30% late lunch, and 40% their late, late, late dinner. Works well for us!

I think her objective is simply getting me up and out of bed most of the time, as in she wants attention. She's actually on pretty much the same schedule as your boys for the soft food. She gets her breakfast when I get up, her mid-day portion around 5:30 and then her late night snack around bed time, which varies from 10 to midnight depending on if it's a week day or not. Sometimes she won't even eat her breakfast right away, so that makes me think that she really just wants attention and not necessarily her soft food. =/

All my robes have holes chewed in them from picking up toy mice and leaving them in the pockets. It’s a pain, because I need to figure out if there’s a functional pocket and always make sure to wear drawers so the tackle isn’t hanging out.

So she actually stopped doing it again. Maybe she was just upset that we weren't home or she really does get nightmares sometimes and wants me up for comfort. That was my other theory because I've seen her twitch and whine and get up suddenly all scared. :(
