Congrats on your new family member!! It isn't recommended to wet the dry food because bacteria is likely to grow on it. Dogs tend to eat it right away, cats usually don't. You can get a water fountain to encourage drinking. Or what we do is just run the faucet and let them drink out of that. Most of mine prefer that to drinking from a bowl.

I agree that adding water to dry is not a good idea. A fountain is a good idea to encourage drinking, but in lieu of that I would just keep an eye on her and make sure she drinks from time to time.
