Broken toe help

I'm so glad to ear that he is well again. I know how traumatic that time was for our boy and the family, I'm guessing Julius' convalescing was a bit easier to manage.

Also love the photo, stretching out those toesies!

My 15 week old was limping last night and xrays show what's called a "fissure" fracture of one of his toes. Supposedly it will heal on it's own if he gets rest....Considering the fire in this kitty's belly that will be better said than done. I just hope it heals. I just got this guy last week after my 5yr old F2 died of heart failure....

Not good.

May17-12-b-cast.jpg This is Babbage, an F5 kitten I had that took a running jump out of an upper story window...fortunately all he broke was a toe! Two casts within two days and we gave up on that, his paw healed amazingly fast though...within two weeks there was barely any tenderness or limp.

I sympathize with the "keeping quiet" idea... it's pretty impossible with a kitten. All you can do is confine to one room, lay down any cat trees in the room and not do any play that involves jumping...run the wand toy on the floor or try and get him to swat while sitting or laying down...that kind of thing. Savannahs have a lot of energy so this kind of injury is hard to rest :-( Luckily cat bones are known to heal amazingly fast! Purring is said to be at the frequency that aids bone healing too...
