Woke up to 5 degree outside temp and a dead furnace this morning. :poop: and double :poop: Made my way over roads that are complete sheets of ice to Home Depot for some space heaters to get us through until the repairmen can get here which will probably be at least a week. They are swamped. The storm that hit us and is making its way east is unusual for this area and we are ill-equipped to handle it.

Had a record number of car accidents Friday when the storm first hit because no one here knows how to drive in ice and snow. Seems to me that common sense would tell you to SLOW DOWN but nooooooo, they still drive like it's summer.:uh oh:

:poop:

Philadelphia was pretty bad for 3-4 hours yesterday, but my estimation of snow is fairly poor, but it was several inches. Close to a foot at the airport apparently - which i find hard to believe. But it didn't dip below 25-30 degrees, so we lucked out!

I absolutely detest cold weather but at least in cold weather you can throw more clothes, blankets, etc. on to make it through. My air conditioner busted one summer in the middle of 110º+ weather and it took over 36 hours for a new unit to be installed (old unit was too old for repair as they no longer made parts for it!). I have to say though, the new unit is wonderful - my monthly electric bill has gone down by over 44% since it was installed!

I hate cold! We have had some icing, but mostly rain in the Richmond area. Will be mid 30s tomorrow. I am glad you were able to get space heaters for warmth!

All these people on the road today that don't have any common sense how to drive on snow and ice have :poop: for brains. There is alot of them where I live too, and they also have to tailgate so close behind me right on my bumper when I'm doing the speed limit...too much roadrage out there also! It was -7F after midnight tonight when I came home from work and 2 inches of snow fell early this morning!
