Cat in the dryer

Today my sister inlaw was doing laundry. As she proceeded to load the dryer our 16 week old Loki jumped in. She started the dryer and heard a thump and looked in the dryer and saw Loki running on the clothes with a look like get me out of here im done already. We opened the door and he just walked out Needless to say he wasnt phased by it at all just came out purring. It scared the rest of us pretty good.
I always warn owners of the dryer dangers. I do personally know someone that had a Sphynx climb in the dryer and was not discovered until it was too late. I make it a point of not opening the dryer door until I am ready to put the clothes in and then close it as soon as the clothes are taken out. Mine are not allowed to ever climb in even for a second.

Yes, the horror stories are awful... I just cannot imagine how devastating it would be to have such a thing happen :-(

I think your routine is a good one!

Oh, I'm so glad it turned out alright!

Vakai's not allowed in the basement. But you can bet I'll be even more vigilant when I'm doing laundry.. I've heard terrible stories like that before, it must be so awful when people find out too late...

Oh goodness. When I was a child, one of my Mom's siamese kittens got into the dryer and went around one or two times. He was also okay. One of my buyers just sent me a picture of his girl in the darn dryer, he noticed her before closing it and pushing the button thank goodness. What is it about the dryer? I think the cats are secretly telling their humans that they want cat wheels (-:

I use to leave our washer open until we lost one our cats. I was trying to air it out since I always am washing stinky car grease covered clothes. My boy must have Been playing with our girl and it got bumped closed. We searched for him for hours that morning. I cannot tell you how devastated we were, I loved him to death and still to this day regret not closing the door, I never imagined it would happen but it does. I'm beyond paranoid though now when it comes to the washer/dryer/dish washer. I think I have to open it twice before assuring myself its okay to close.

These are things that can happen to anyone because we simply just can't imagine it happening. :( I always see people taking pics of their cats playing in these appliances and I warn them up and down.
