Cat Safe? Paper Towel Holder

The counter one is a bit large and you have to put the roll on a rod so it isn't as easy as just popping in a new roll like the other one but still does a fantastic job.
I got the countertop model, and I love that way it works. However I'm having trouble with the paper towel rolls we use. According to the website it will accomodate rolls up to 6.5" diameter. Ours are 6", but it won't work with them until they have been used some. They also seem to talk for it. What type of rolls do you use with it? Thx!!

I've used brawny and bounty (both big or giant rolls) and have had no trouble with either. With the countertop model I have put them in backwards and had issues. I think that as they dispense you should see the underside of the towel looking from the side that the eye is on if that makes any sense. When I loaded them the other way the towel jammed a bit when they pulled back inside. When loaded the way it looked in one of the diagrams the towels had plenty of room for backing up and freely coming out again. I have also jammed the paper towels in quickly without making sure that the rod is sitting in the right spot which caused it not to work. My towels just fit on the rod with no room to spare. In fact when I put them on I make sure that the cardboard roll is pushed down snug.

Do you plug it in or use batteries? Just measured my towels and they are 6" wide rolls.

image.jpeg image.jpeg We have it plugged in. And we use Bounty Select a Size Mega rolls (6" rolls). And yes you do have to force the roll way down on the spindle, didn't do that the first time. Here are 2 pics. First one is the stack of towels we have to remove to get it to work. And second is how they are loaded. Not sure if that's how they are supposed to go?

Total success with the dispensers. Have not had a single paper towel incident.

Now if I could only find a similar TP dispenser. I had ordered a cover but I felt the edges were too sharp so never used it. Using 2 ssscat cans right now until I can come up with a better solution. Wondering if when I remodel in the spring I can recess the holder with a cover.

That's exactly how it should go. I don't think I ever used bounty mega sized. I swear by the pick a size though. Right now I have brawny but usually get whichever of the two is on sale at Costco. I would contact customer support to see if they have any suggestions since mine measure 6" too and unless I put them in the other direction or don't push the tube down mine works well. Crazy to have to remove that many for it to work. :(

Yeah, Smooch really enjoys the toilet paper treadmills her humans so thoughtfully put up for her.

Yes I'll have to call them. I measured our rolls before I ordered it to make sure they would work. I can just start getting smaller rolls, but it's annoying if it is supposed to work with that size rolls.

Siroe, 6 1/2 months, has found his love for paper towels.... time to get those better dispensers. papertowels.jpg
