Cat Tree Bliss

The new cat tree arrived late yesterday afternoon and the boyz are enthralled. Best.cat.tree.ever. They first got excited over the boxes, then, of course, had to help with the assembly. Their only disappointment is that I didn't keep the two shipping boxes. Our house has more cat furniture than people furniture. WOW Deborah! That looks beautiful and must be a lot of fun for the kitties! I'm curious. How long did it take to assemble? Are the leaves big enough for a very large kitty? If you could do it over, would you have gotten the taller big oak model? :)

It took less than an hour to assemble. The leaves are definitely big enough for a large cat. Maliik (24 lbs, 3 ft long) sits comfortably on the leaves. It's 5'3" tall and 5" wide from leaf tip to leaf tip so it does take up a bit of space. I don't regret getting the shorter model for inside but will be getting the taller one for their outside catio.

Thank you Deborah! Boy that Big Oak sure seems like a huge thing to put inside a living room with an eight food ceiling. What is your professional Savnnah lovin' opinion? Is a seven foot tree insane for an eight foot ceiling or is it just really cool? I wish there was a six footer! ;)

Oh, and can Malik fit inside the trunk? Did you see the one that attaches to the wall? That looks really great too and takes up less space. BUT they can't go inside of it... :(

I think the 7 ft one would be too massive appearing with my 20' ceilings so it wasn't the right thing for me personally. A 7' tree & 8' ceiling doesn't leave a lot of room for a tall cat so you might be happier with the shorter version. Maliik can get his bulk into the trunk holes. What's nice about the tree is the leaves align with the holes, so even if a cat can't entirely curl up in the hole, it can stretch out part in the hole and part on a leaf.

I like the one that attaches to the wall. It's still on my list but for the catio. I want to turn it into an exercise area for the cats similar to what Mr. CC did with his wall.

That is too funny! I feel soooo silly! I never thought that my cats may want to actually stand up on the top of the nest and unless you have one of those munchkins with legs like a dachsund that ain't happenin'!!
LOL! :p

So Malik can actually get inside there and climb up inside the tree?

The tree isn't hollow. The holes are separated from each other by a floor & ceiling and the only way they can climb it is on the outside. I have one that is hollow and they rarely use the inside. With this one, they use the holes in a variety of ways to play with each other.
