Cristy, thank you for all the pictures and the critiques. It's very helpful to hear some terminology that I've not heard before to describe them (high cheekbones, narrow width torso but with significant width) - it really helps me get a clearer picture of what you are aiming for.

Yes, it needs to be slightly short, and it's not. I could add that her ears narrow more near the top than we'd like, as well. It may be better than I think, though. She has small ear tufts. Those are desirable, but they also make the ears look pointier than they actually are.

Sometimes I think it pays to play a hunch when picking a show cat. There are things that might -- just maybe -- indicate something special about a kitten. You never know until the kitten matures, but a hunch can be an extra point in favor or an extra five points in favor. In this case, I liked the fact that this kitten followed a JC kind of growth pattern. Bobbie said she was always the largest or one of the largest two kittens in the litter, but she was round and very uninteresting when she was younger. Then, fairly recently she got super lanky and a whole lot typier than previously. I've seen that happen a number of times now with Chausies that turned out great -- and I've seen it with early generation kittens.

Is that what's going on this time? Maybe not. But it's a hunch.

I like her a lot, Cristy! When I asked about the tail, it was just so I could be sure I am learning the standard a bit...

And yes, hunches often pay off...it will be interesting to see her develop.

Will she be at the SW Regional in July?

Knock on wood, since it's been a funny year so far, but that's the plan. I want to show the young Chausie, Desert Dancer, and my Thai girl Yulaia hopefully at least through the Annual. I'm hoping to see a KhaoManee, the odd Serengeti, and maybe a *Highlander* or two in the ANB classes, since otherwise I will often be ALL ALONE and bored at many of the upcoming shows, you guys! (When I show Yulaia, that will be different, since Thai isn't too far from Savannah in the alphabet. LOL.)

LOL, I will be bringing my Highlander to the SW Regional, and possibly to the Annual as well - not sure about that one yet. We definitely need more Highlander exhibitors (hint, hint ;) )
