Last year, D was a 5 month old kitten, and we put Pur tree in our front room, which has 2 sets of French doors. It let us enjoy the tree without making it into a cat tree. We are going to try it again this year.
That said, the number or fragile decorations out in my house has dropped pretty dramatically with three boys at home.
