I won't talk to her breeder about it... When I told them she had giardia when she was 4 months old they went mental ! It could only be my fault! Anyway they knew. Their cats all look good and good nature too.
I will mail and call the vet today.

My Sv F5 had giardia when she was 4 months old and had antibiotics then got better, but stool often a bit loose and smelly farts!
She is now 11 months old.
A month ago it got bad again and after pcr she was tested positive for clostridium only.
She had a course of stomorgyl for a week then got better.
It started all over again last week.The vet did not bother to send the sample to the lad beeing sure it is still clostridium.
He is for a row diet ,but I have chosen to cook chicken or fish with rice.
Yesterday she had a tin of Almonature (fish) and had home made chicken later on.
Last night she had very loose stools again and this morning agin with mucus, that she can not help,leaked outside the tray. This make her a bit distraught as well.
What shall I do next ? More tests ? My vet is quite busy and does not reply to my mails.
Could this become chronic , or IBS on the way...
Can I do more test while she is on antibiotics?

Clostridium is normal intestinal flora that only causes an issue when it overgrows in the intestinal tract, causing the diarrhea you are seeing. I would strongly suggest when treating with antibiotics that you find a good probiotic supplement so that you can replace the "bad" bacteria with the "good" ones in the probiotic. I love the Proviable product for this, if you can get it in the UK. Mainly because for this situation, it has both the paste (which in addition to the bacteria has kaolin and pectate to deal with the loose stools) and then the capsules of just the friendly gut bacteria.

I would NOT be switching between fish and chicken each meal...her gut is inflamed and unhappy and this is not bland enough. Stick to boiled chicken and a little white rice. I know we like to feed our kitties a balanced diet but I would hold off even adding supplements to that for at least a week just to allow the very bland chicken and rice to settle her system.

Are you sure the giardia is gone? What antibiotics did she have? Fenbendazole (Panacur) is the best course for giardia...but it is also important to note that giardia can be in water, even city water supplies! Most water supplies only have to report it IF it is present above a certain concentration...so if slightly below that level, it is not reported.

So having had it before, I might ask for a Giardia SNAP test at your vets (this is a little test they should have there in the vet hospital not send out a sample) as I don't think that would be affected by the antibiotics you are giving her. Because if this is also a factor, you need to be treating, but I would still suggest hunting out a good probiotic like Proviable and keeping her on the chicken only (not the tinned fish).

Are you sure the giardia is gone? What antibiotics did she have? I was told she was cleared of Giardia...And positive on clostridium only and no Tritri.
I call the vet today , he was busy . I will pop in there tomorrow and maybe with one sample for them ,although they like to get 3.
I have something call Pet Plus , I added a very little bit in her boiled chicken and rice tonight.
I have not done the Advocate treatment for 3 months ,the oily liquid you put at the back of their heads. Would you do it or perhaps it is better to wait...

What I was trying to say is that you may indeed have been cleared but been reinfected just from water. When a cat has not been well it is more susceptible to subsequent infections, the immune system is trying hard .

What is Pet Plus? I personally would not add anything beyond a probiotic to her chicken and rice... the blander the meal can be the better for her system at this point.

I'd probably delay the Advocate.

They sent it away. They did Pcr testing

Maybe it's something completely different. Had a blood work done ?
IBD or pancreatite can cause similar symptoms.
