I am glad to hear Venus is doing better and that you found a good vet. I had to keep one of my kittens on probiotics for months. It was not a big deal, but it suppressed me. Also don't be suppressed if starts eating a lot when she has a growth spurt.

I will list the brand names when I get home thus evening. What we were giving her prior to the vet visit is something we had on hand that my wife takes daily herself.

I use FortiFlora with my cats. I am not sure that it is the best probiotic but they like the taste so sometimes I sprinkle it on just to give them a different flavor. BTW, you can buy it on-line if you decide to use it again in the future.

Vets like to sell Foriflora because it is a Purina product, but it actually has very little active cultures so it isn't too effective as a probiotic. It is a better flavor enhancer. How are her stools doing? Is she normalizing?

I haven't caught her pooping today yet so I'm not sure. If she will eat it on taste alone I'll be happy. I haven't seen an animal so picky about what they'll eat. I've tried all kinds of "treats" with her and the only thing she'll eat is fresh meats. Nothing freeze dried or anything else I've tried. When trying to wean her to the new food she picked through and only ate the kitten chow. I think she may be picker than I am.

Everything is finally under control. Turns out Venus had giardia. She got worse over Christmas and I was very worried. Took her back into the vet the day after Christmas and "luckily" she had an accident in the kennel on the way there. The feces was fresh and the parasites were easily detected by the vet. Some medicine and some more probiotics and we are all feeling much better! Someone is hitting a growth spurt...
