Diatomaceous Earth to Worm Pets

My breeder recommended that I use food-grade diatomaceous earth to help with worming. Obviously, I will do what my vet recommends I do for worming, but has anyone had any experience with supplementing food with DE?

I usually sprinkle it around the garden to get rid of pests that eat my fruit trees and vines. It's also supposed to keep the sand flea population at bay and seems to work (but not 100%). I didn't know you could feed it.

I'd prefer to do this and take a stool sample to my vet to make sure it was effective. Great information!

I have heard of this many times online, but have never used it.

Heard of it many times as a home remedy, effective, but have no personal stories or use beyond beetle spider flea control.

I have heard people swear by DE both for deworming and pest control around the house. I haven't used it for deworming but was not terribly impressed with its effectiveness as a pest control agent - guess the little buggers in AZ are just too tough for it!
