Oops, didn't even think about it, but that's some Dino stuff in the Dooley thread.

So here's something to get this back on track, a little Dino and Dooley wrestling.

That's about how Una and her favorite dog wrestle, except she cheats because she can jump up and bounce off things to land on the dog.

Yesterday Dooley had his nuggets removed. For all of us it was a pretty big day as the last time at the vet Dino really acted up for Trish and I wanted him to go along for the ride. The objective was so he could be there without getting poked or prodded, and even play a little bit.

We left about 30 minutes earlier than we normally would so I could walk Dino around the grounds at the vets office. Odd, but for the first time ever neither of them made a peep on the way there. When we got there Dino was pretty excited because he knew it was a pretty cool place to poke around.

Our vets office is in a fairly rural place with woods behind it, a cemetery nearby and all the mole and gopher holes any cat could dream of. As usual Dino had a great time and really likes poking his way through the graveyard.

Dino wasn't real motivated to go back to the vehicle to pick up Dooley, so I picked him up and he made himself totally limp and let me drape him over my shoulder. We get Dooley out, go check in and Dino is a model citizen on his leash with the vet tech and the other pets and pet owners. He was even pretty cool with the resident cat, Plato, walking up to him and laying down about 18 inches from his nose.

We say so long to Dooley, a couple Vet Techs come out to rub Dino's head or belly and even the one he was so upset with on the last visit was getting headsets from him (She's also who watches Dino when we are away for a few days). All is good, the world is perfect, except for Dooley's modification and we head home.

About 6 hours later we return to pick up Dooley with the same plan. We see some Puppies outside and Dino is just happy to meet their acquaintance. The time comes to go pick up Dooley, even more critters and people around but Dino is attentive ears up and curious.

About 10 minutes later they finally bring Dooley out he's all glassy eyed and a little wobbly. Dooley catches one glimpse of a happy and curious Dino then lets out a huge hiss.

So now my mild mannered and until a moment ago happy Dino goes into full hideous growl mode. The ears are up and attentive, the fur and tail are poofed up with the very distinct ridge down the back. Dooley of course is going to join in and everyone in the waiting room takes three steps back.

To me the whole thing is just pretty funny as I know Dino is just making noise to make noise. I ended up sticking my finger in his mouth so everyone else could be in on just how funny this episode was with a garbled growling Dino. So much for keeping out of the Penalty Box at the Vet's office.

I get home and the freshly de-nutted test pilot for EI Lily wants to play with Dino and Dino wants none of it. More crazy warbled growls and Dino is convincing no one he means business. Dooley just wants his buddy, and Dino just runs away growling. Get there food ready and move Dooley into his quarantine room for the evening.

A couple visits throughout the night, Dooley is fine and a real lover kitty while Dino growls outside the door.

This morning starts early. 4am to be exact and Dooley is convinced he can run on his wheel fast enough to evoke time travel. He had also been banging on his door most of the night but that's much easier to sleep through than the low pitch drone of their cat wheel.

Morning feeding arrives and the two besties still aren't friends. Dooley gets a morning dose of his pain meds, which seems to get him pretty wound up and Dino isn't going for any kitten games. A few hours go by and the growls subside and then finally around 4pm all is forgiven.

Poor Dooley, he probably smelled of the vet's office and Dino wanted nothing of it. I'm glad they've made up and are back to 'normal' now...

Aww... This is what happens when I bring a cat to the vet and come home... The others all hiss... Glad all is back to normal! Silly Dino

I really tried to head it off by taking Dino along, and the real impetus of him going off was when he realized Dooley wasn't having any fun being there.

Fortunately all is back to normal and they are well liked at the vets office.
