Does your cat yell at you?

Keljin's yells out of excitement for the most part :) Like most cats he does meow for food time, but I am learning there are lots of meanings to how he talks to me! Here are some of the translations I have learned so far.

When I come home through the door: OMG HIIII MOM I MISSED U SO MUCH WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME? IM SO HAPPY YOU ARE BACK! HEY, PICK ME UP I WANNA HAVE HUGS AND KISSES!

When my alarm goes off: MOM, WAKE UP, THE BEEPER MEANS ITS TIME TO FEED ME!!! (right in my face, then he licks my face if the yelling does not work. sometimes he gently places his teeth on any exposed arm or leg as a last resort)

When he is playing with Winry or Kronos: WHY WON'T YOU PLAY WITH ME?? MOVE! DO SOMETHING! (he mixes chattering in with his whiny yelling, he sounds impatient)

When I am in the kitchen: HEY, U GONNA GIMME SOME OF THAT? SMELLS SOOO GOOD MOM! IM HUNGRY TOO!

When I am on the computer: HEY, MOM LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME! CAN I JUMP INTO YOUR LAP? BLINK AT ME IF YOU SAY YES? OK I AM JUMPING UP! HI MOMMM purr purrr (its funny, he really does ask permission and waits for me to make eye contact before he jumps into my lap. Probably a result of me crying in pain of him jumping at me unprepared with his claws out on my legs. He has learned well! I love his manners to ask permission before jumping now)

Tiger loves to talk all the time and if I go to the bath room he has to be with me at all times. Loki the 15 week old has lerned to yell at you for everything so much so Bintu and Tiger come running to see whats up. Bintu hates it when any body yells human or cat. Loki yells in the kitty litter box at the back door in the kitchen and when you get home and when going to bed. Bintu does not meow much at all do to when she was flown from Canada it traumatized her volcal cords and she just sweaks now. The flight had trouble and she missed her lay over it took 27 hours by the time she arrived and we got her out of jail. All she could do was open her mouth and nothing would come out. Thank goodness she turned out to be a great kitty after all she went through.

Awww...poor Bintu! 27 hours is a very long time for a kitty...she must have been so scared ;) But glad to hear it all worked out.

That is King to a "T"!!! Especially the "asking" permission/waiting for eye contact to jump on my lap... The jumping on the lap when unprepared thing is SOOOO much worse for a guy...:p He did NOT appreciate my reaction when he jumped from his 6 foot perch to my "lap" in the chair that was about 6 feet away, scoring, "a direct hit", if I may... He took a dip in the (kiddy/kitty) pool ala me! Karma loves playing in the water. King does NOT and just gets ticked off. He then "pouts" in the corner making sure EVERYBODY knows he's ticked off... He's a VERY vocal kitty... Karma is very "chatty" (not loud) about EVERYTHING but will get loud about dinner. Tully and Sam, my Bengals, are, easily the 2 loudest, most vocal cats ever!!! EVER!!!!! The 3 SV kittens are quiet... (They're a week old... What else would they be???) tri wink:

I have three boys and they all talk to us. And each has a different voice! The all talk for different reasons as well but it all boils down to wanting some kind of attention. Bonaparte, the baby, join us about a month ago. He his this little almost soundless cry when he want some loving. I notice two week later that Ulysses (who was his mommy's boy and about six months older) started using the same cry for attention!
