The best trick I have found for a cat at a show that was not, er....on their best behavior for the judges, was to pay the $1.00 the show charged to practice in the agility ring, and walking my girl around it and letting her blow off some steam. She wore a walking jacket and leash. Made all the difference in the world. We went from her not placing at all because of her attitude (this was HHP kittens) to placing in all her classes, even getting a 2nd, the next day. I think she was just tired of being cooped up in the cage, and she was a very active girl. Not all shows have agility rings, unfortunately, but this is one idea. Rescue Remedy and valerian did not work for her either.
However, that is a great idea!!!
