JP, sure is good to hear you are getting back into the swing of things. Glad to hear Trish is progressing.
It is still brutal here and it's going to get worse. I thought Cleveland was just as nasty this time of year.
Becki, O'hare is so bad I rarely use it. Kinda have to if going international. Midway is a walk in the park comparatively. Use it if you can.

We get a lot more snow here but the winds aren't as bad and the temperature don't fall as low. The prevailing winds here coming off the lake generally keep it about 10 degrees warmer than Chicago but we also get more than 50% more snow as a result.

Despite being stuck there more than a few times I really like O'Hare.

What a great update! Not just because of the little stories of the kindness of others (which is heartwarming) but that your attitude is so positive...

I love the new house, it looks like a great fresh start back to a "normal" life...

What a special moment it will be when Trish meets those firefighters, full of emotion no doubt but I can see how rewarding it must be for the firefighters to meet her and know she is doing well.

Big hugs to you both!

Had to walk away from the computer because I was bawling so hard after reading your update. I am so glad you and Trish have found a new temporary home, and am to blessed to hear about the kindness of others.

John, glad to hear you have a house and are going to get a fresh start! I am equally glad that Trish is doing better and moving forward - I am sure it is difficult...

It is always very special when you get tot hank those who you have helped...my father was a firefighter and I remember how he glowed when he was able to meet people he saved...it is a priceless gift...

Hope you continue to be able to move forward and get some semblance of a normal life back...

Glad to hear of the great update. I think it would be wonderful for Trish to meet the firefighters and vice versa. Wishing you and Trish all of the very best moving forward with a fresh start. :)

Welcome back to a little bit of normality. John, we are all so heart broken and yet very glad for you as well. As bad as this had been, it could have been so much worse. I know you are aware of that, I hope it brings you a little comfort. You have possibly spawned a "hug your kitty" national holiday.

John, that is wonderful you and Trish have a very nice place to stay while you rebuild your lives and recuperate the best you can...I am very happy karma is working its magic for you when you both need it.

Yes, the meeting with the firefighters will be emotional for all in a very good way...

All my prayers, best wishes and good thoughts will continue for you both!

It is so wonderful to hear that you and Trish are putting all this sadness and horror behind you and are moving forward in a positive way. As Deborah said, you have made a difference in someone's life along the way, and the universe is rewarding your kindness. Stay positive. We are all in your corner with you.
