So sorry to hear about Dooley's misfortune, but can see how handles on drawers could be devastating.!! So glad none of my drawers have handles that could catch a paw.!!!

Hopeful it was just a strain and no permeant damage was incurred.!!!! Positive thoughts and Purrrayers are sent your way.!!!!

So sorry to hear about Dooley's mishap. I too hope it's a sprain. If it does require wrapping the only 2 thoughts are outer wrapping in a fabric that they don't like and or use a small craft paintbrush and ( it would need to be water resistant to not soak in)paint on dr. Bronners soap. It's not pleasant tasting and when they have a go at chewing it won't hurt them at all. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Dooley is back home from the vet with a bar room brawl half cast on his left front leg. He has a broken third and fourth metacarpal bone with a hairline fracture in the third and a displaced fracture in the fourth. He will be referred to the surgical center Monday to evaluate what can be done with the displac d fracture.

He's been fitted with the cone of shame and will be on lockdown for 8 weeks. Fortunately it won't be as bad as our boy Chongo's broken hip was and he'll have full run of a room.

We plan to buy some Futons tomorrow so he can climb into their daybed where they watch the birds and another so we can sleep on the floor with him. Fortunately I think I can engineer things so both boys can be locked down together without Dooley aggravating his injury.

Into our lives Sh-t happens, Dooley.. But as my human son said when he was a kid, " broken bones makes you a superstar." Heal fast my young moose. You will come out of this ok. Love and prayers Dooley. :) ( John and Trish too...)

Awww poor baby. Get well soon Dooley! Good thoughts and prayers for fast healing. I am sure if they can be together it will help both of them with the recovery.

Poor Dooley!
How long are his legs? Or did they use a 10 foot pole as a splint?!

I had never noticed before but Dooley holds his elbows a lot higher than Dino does. Having the cast go up and around that elbow is important so the cast doesn't shift and his leg remains immobile. There might be an extra half three quarters of an inch additional length with his peg leg.
