I'm pretty stoked as for the longest time I felt like we were treading water with our head beneath the surface. It was difficult finding a treatment that worked and despite a heavy heart when the surgery didn't correct things, I was glad it gave us a look at is liver and a clear path for treatment.

I'm still holding out hope that this is something that is not just treatable but correctable and not congenital. Probably never know, but at least we have a manageable program and quality of life is excellent. Couldn't say that 3 months ago, so once again counting our blessings.

I am glad that Dooley is doing better.....and I think that the vet tech is glad as well! Do I need to consider doing a blood sacrifice for Rafiki to do better?

As I understand it and what I've been told after the great deal of blood loss while drifting in and out of consciousness, I began speaking in tongues which can only be construed as some type of primal prayer for all Savannah's. In particular, I'm sure there was a special request for Rafiki.

Did you get antibiotics for your finger? If not, keep a close eye on it and if it gets worse get it looked at asap.

Fortunately I was at the Vet's office and got far better care than if I were at a hospital. They told me to squeeze as much blood as possible out of the wound while flushing it with some blue liquid, then put some goop on it and bandaged it up.

If I ever take them together again, I'm definitely requesting separate examination rooms.

Sounds like the trip to the vet from hell! Glad to hear both are doing well and yes, not taking them together or separate rooms is a must...as long as your finger is fine, that's cool, but most bites require antibiotics.

Sounds like a pretty bad biteouch! Hope it heels up fast. Glad Dooley is getting better too. My F3 is a bad boy taking him to the vet also...he doesn't bite, but sure makes a lot of noise howling and I have to carry him the whole time because he won't walk well on the leash when we go to the vet and he's very heavy, 22lbs!
