Yes, Mango is just too smart and yes, he does probably feel pretty awful....poor guy :(

I suppose feeling like I'm living in his litter box is getting to me. I'm definitely going to attempt not only the raw chicken, but also the cooked chicken and rice. There IS a way to get that probiotic in his gut and I hope to find the right way that works!

I can't remember, have you tried plain yogurt yet? If he did like the baby food when you tried before, what was different this time do you think? Did you warm the jar a little...that can make a difference... did you offer it on a spoon or in a dish?

Agreed with WitchyWoman that boiled chicken with rice is a good idea... I tend to do it differently. I buy fresh ground chicken at Whole Foods (where they tell you how recently it was ground) and boil with a lot of water and then add a little cooked white rice. It should be mainly chicken and water. Don't be tempted to use canned chicken broth to cook the chicken in, as it often has onions &/or garlic in it.

I'm sorry about the mess, it's not fun to deal with :-(

Her eis hoping that mango gets better soon...plain yogurt as Brigitte has indicated works well, but you may also want to try a probiotic such as proviable or probios - it comes in a gel and mine love it!

Fingers crossed Mango improves soon! Be sure if you are trying yogurt, it is the plain un-flavored type...not vanilla. It can be hard to find. My cats enjoy the occasional half-teaspoon of yogurt as a treat. You can also try mixing a bit of tuna or canned salmon juice to the yogurt for flavor.

Ok, it's official, Mango is a knucklehead! My vet's office did not carry a probiotic so this morning I went to Pet Valu and bought the Pet Kelp. Then I headed to the market to buy some tuna and some baby food to mix with the powder. He turned his nose at cheese. He refuses to eat canned food. He gave a disgusted look at the baby food (which he did eat before). And he even walked away from the tuna! What?? And that was all before I attempted to add the probiotic. He's a looney toon.

I'm thinking of raw meat? Is that any good for him to eat? I doubt he will, but it's always worth a try. This diarrhea thing is getting ridiculous. I woke up this morning to a poop bomb in the bathroom. His stool is so runny that it gets on his paws and as a result was all over my bathroom tub, floor, counter, walls, toilet, cabinets.....you name it, poop was on it! To top it all off, after it was cleaned and disinfected, he pooped again, stepped in it again, and messed up the bathroom again...this is getting tiresome.

Did I just rant? Ugh...didn't mean to but this morning was not fun.
You seriously need to run a diarrhea PCR panel on Mango... poor Mango, and poor YOU!!!

I can't believe what just happened! I warmed up some turkey baby food and sprinkled the Pet Kelp in with it. My intention was to put it in a syringe and give it to Mango that way. Do you know what happened? Mango started liking my fingers with the mixture on them, so I just squirt the mix in my hand and he licked it all up!! Who would have thought? So, long story short, Mango finally got some probiotic in his little tummy :) Yay....lets hope he continues to eat it that way.

Today was his last dose of clavamox and predinsolone. His metronidazole will be until Saturday.
