Ex breeding queen spraying

Back in September I brought 2 cats 1 which is an ex breeding queen and her daughter who is neutered and not been used for breeding.
Mother cat quickly decided that whilst she would use her litter box she also liked peeing on the kitchen work too, the kitchen floor, the rug in the lounge and the carpet by the front door.
This is usually done at night and she has only done this once in front of me. Since I moved the Lounge furniture around she has been spraying a lot on the wall by the window. The carpet below has been peed on previously and cleaned. She has sprayed before but very little this week she's done it 4 times. I'm unsure if it was the lounge furniture being moved around or the purchase of a feliway which has made little impact in fact it's made it worse.
Her relationship with her daughter is relatively good mother is the dominant one and tries to fight with her or at least chase her twice a day. Daughter just gets scared and runs and hides but since the purchase of the feliway has been standing up to her not in a bad way simply standing up for herself.
I have 3 litter boxes which are cleaned at least 3 times a day
They are in private quiet areas
No other pets
The home is quiet
They have a feliway
There are cats in the area but immediate neighbours don't have cats
They are indoor cats
Previously the breeder kept them in outdoor pens
They both have lovely temperaments.
Today I set up the spare room for them they were previously kept in the kitchen and lounge.
They have litter boxes beds on different levels toys and food.
Mother seems quite happy up there but is very dominant over her daughter she likes to chase her corner her and goes for biting her neck. The daughter yowls whilst this is going on and doesn't fight back.
I think they need seperating but I think the daughter would really miss her mum. I don't think mum would miss daughter.
There has been no spraying or accidents whilst they've been in the spare room but I just need to sort the mum / daughter relationship thoughts please would be lovely

Haystar, you said the daughter has been spayed. Has the mother also been spayed? If not, she should be as it will have an impact on her spraying. If mom has been spayed and it's been just a few months, it may take more time to get the hormones out of her system for the spraying to stop.

I'll leave it to the experienced breeders here to go in-depth on answers since I don't breed.

When she sprays what are you cleaning the area with? Any over-the-counter urine cleaner is not likely to be effective. The only two products I have had success with are Anti-Icky-Poo and Unique Distributors - both can be purchased online. Be sure to follow the instructions on cleaning, and repeat if necessary. The fact that she has not sprayed in the spare room makes me believe that she is simply continuing to mark those areas that have already been marked on, and once you completely eliminate the scent with a good enzyme cleaner this should improve.

As for the mother-daughter relationship, it is not uncommon for an older cat (particularly females) to try to dominate the younger cats in the home. It sounds like she is being quite aggressive and I am concerned that she may hurt the kitten. I would definitely separate them, and I don't think you should worry about the kitten missing her mother - she should be bonding with you anyway, and continuing to keep her with her mother will only hamper that.

They are in the spare room which neither have had access too and there has been no spraying since.
The daughter is 3 years old I tried seperatimg them but daughter keeps scratching at the spare room door i will try again tomorrow.

I have a few questions, which may help work out what is going on. Your older female is marking territory it seems (particularly by the window) which may indicate an issue with the outdoor cats. She feels the need to tell the outdoor cats that this is HER house... which is not an unusual cat behavior. A quick "fix" to consider is window film at least on the lower part of the window... there are some decorative types...and it is easily removable but if you can find out if blocking her vision of outside helps with the spraying, that is good information.

An important factor in resolving this behavior is how is the urine been cleaned up? What products specifically are you using? Especially for carpet, something like the injector offered on http://antiickypoo.com/advanced-scented-carpet-and-fabric-kit-w-black-light-and-carpet-injector/ is specifically designed to get the enzyme cleaner right down into the carpet underlay where residual urine odor remains when usually we clean the carpet. Any residual odor may result in the cat continuing to pee, their noses are WAY more sensitive than ours so we often need to clean once more than we think we do to properly get rid of all odor.

When you purchased both mother and daughter cat, were they already living together? How old was the daughter cat? If they weren't living in the same space at the breeder's then did you gradually introduce, or did you assume they would remember each other and just place in the house together?

You mention that the mother cat attacks and chases the daughter cat around... what have you been doing to try to improve their relationship?

Which Feliway diffuser have you been using? There are two different formulas, one is designed for peeing issues and one designed for a multicat household.

What kind of litter are you using? Have you tried Cat Attract litter yet?

How much play do you give them each day?
