F2 height/weight at 1 year?

Henri is quickly approaching his 1st birthday! (One more month to go). I'm curious as to when they reach their adult height/weight. He seems small compared to some of the other F2 males on this board. As of today he weighs 12.5-13 lbs and stands around 15 inches at the shoulder. He is a F2 make from Select Exotics, mom was Merry and dad was Miles. How long do they grow? Does this sound like an F2 size for 11-12 months?

Just like any generation, F2's can vary greatly in size. So there really is no normal. We do have a few big boys on this forum so it can make others seem small in comparison. But your boy seems a good height, even is his weight seems lower than some of the heavyweights like Duma.

Your guy is just a smigen bigger than my F2 Regulus. Regie is about 15 in at the shoulder and is 12
lbs even at 1.5 years.

As already noted, there's quite a variation in size even in early generations. My very first F2 was a male and he ranged from 12 to 14lbs his entire life. While there are obviously much larger ones.

Some will grow even a couple of inches past their first birthday, but mostly it seems the majority of the height is and they will maybe grow an extra inch. In the subsequent years they tend to add muscle mass so you might expect a few pounds from there. It may strongly depend on the heritage of your Savannah. Those with more Oriental are less likely to add substantial bulk compared to those with a lot of Bengal in their background as those are a much more sturdy muscular body type.

Your boy sounds like he is right on target for his age and generation. Remember that Savannahs are the basketball players of the cat world, so they will be tall and lanky, and weight will be a very poor marker of size on them. 15" tall sounds like quite a sizable boy so I think he has grown just fine.

Thank you! I think there is a bit of Bengal from his dad and he is very orange tinted for a Savannah. I have heard vary responses about how long until they reach their adult size, some sources saying slow growers and some say around a year. Of course I adore him either way!

My F2 boy had another growth spurt around 1 1-2 years. From there he has just been filling out. He's just about 2 now.

It may well depend on whether your individual Savannah inherits more domestic or Serval trait in this regard. Domestic cats tend to be done with growth at a year old, Servals grow for longer... therefore, a Savannah theoretically could follow either growth trend..
