...and a step backwards.

Yesterday morning she was fussy again and ate less than 2 oz of chicken but at least she had 3 duck hearts and some milk. Last night she was starved. She had a couple of duck hearts and ate 3.5 oz of chicken without any coaxing and several post-medicine treats. All was good.

Around 3 am she came to me for snuggles but couldn't seem to quite get comfortable. She left after about 15 minutes. Less than a 1/2 hour after that I heard her throwing up. I got up and comforted her. She had 3 little piles of beige liquidy stuff with a bit of digested food in it. She came back to me for more cuddles around 5 am just to do the same thing - could not get comfy, left and then threw up a short while later. This morning I found her dinner. She had thrown up the entire thing. It looked undigested cooked chicken shreds and duck heart pieces.

This morning she is listless. She has drank but has not eaten. She is in a sprawled position instead of the huddled up that I associate more with a sick cat. It figures - this is the first Saturday in over 2 months that she does not have a vet appointment.

Sorry to hear this Linda. Are you giving her lactose-free milk? Is it possible that the duck hearts are causing the problem, especially if she isn't drinking a lot of liquids? Maybe she has a blockage.

She had about a tablespoon of normal skim milk. She gets this M-F and has never had any issues. She has been drinking a normal amount of water. The duck hearts are served right before the main food of shredded chicken with Gerber baby food mixed in as gravy. I also have some broth mixed into this so it is a little on the soupy side.

I have a call out to the internal medicine vet.

Sitting at the vet's office now.

She got up around 3:30 and drank some water. I gave her an ounce of baby food that she ate and has kept down.
