Flea control chat, opinions on diatomaceous earth please

So we like all natural treatments in our house as much as possible as I have small children. For my outdoor barn kitties (we live in the country) we use diatomaceous earth. Does anyone have experience using this with your Savannah? My new kitten is home and she is small and very young (8 weeks, I know younger than recommended to come home but it is when my breeder sent her home), and we have a few fleas I want to get rid of on her (not a bad infestation yet). I am happy to hear opinions on products, just keep in mind how young she is.

I used diatomaceous earth when a puppy brought an infestation into our home. I used regular products on the animals and bedding and such then sprinkled the diatomaceous earth on the bedding, in the kennels, and around the baseboards in th house. I had no problems getting rid of the fleas, but I can't say it was solely because of the diatomaceous earth.

Yes, I have used diatomaceous earth, although not directly on my Savannahs but on the ground by the doors and windows and in their bedding. If it works for your barn cats it will work with your Savannah.

You're right, eight weeks is very young, hopefully she will transition to her new home without too much difficulty. Do you have any pics of her you can share?

She was very timid and shy and scared of everything when we got her Saturday, I kept her mostly confined to a room at first. She is now several days later very curious and loving, she has bonded with me quickly and is affectionate to the rest of the family. She is no longer timid or scared. Had problems with her eating at first, but that is getting better.
