THere is literally no barrier between me and our friendship. I read as much as i could about it until ive started talking with breeders. It took me weeks...
So let me understand this correctly....its not ok for me/for customers to buy Serval, but its ok to own a hybrid cat designed with luxury in mind, right ? Also those that breed serval with bengals are doing the right thing, am i right?

We've all met Servals and fell in love, kittens even more so. They are completely absorbingly adorable!
For me though, weeks is not a long time when you are talking a 20 year commitment. Exotic cats do not rehome well, it breaks our hearts to read the stories of abandoned Servals that starve themselves to death out of grief for example. They are a huge commitment, and I hope that the people you did talk to in those weeks were really very honest about the downsides of serval ownership. That is why I suggested the FB group I did, it's one of the few where the owner of the group really tries to be REAL about the difficulties. I would be more impressed if you had spent a year talking to people and learning about exotic cat ownership.
Just think, there is a reason why a DOMESTIC version of the Serval (the Savannah) exists. It's not just the legalities in certain states. Even states where Servals are legal, there are Savannah owners... because they are simply much easier to have as pets.
I own two F1s and frankly have absolutely NO desire to own a Serval... my girls are enough for me. The 62% one might even be too much but I would never give up on her. It's not do as I do, as like many Savannah breeders I don't own a Serval...I'm interested in the development of the Savannah breed not breeding exotics. The Savannah was NOT designed with luxury in mind, I don't know why you think that, it was designed to give some of the appearance of the Serval but in a domestic package that makes it a great pet. That was the intent of creating this breed.
You ask about breeding Servals to Bengals, to you is that worse than breeding a Serval to any other domestic cat?I'm not sure that I understand that question. Personally, I think that the best mate for a Serval when wishing to produce F1s is a later generation Savannah which is what the mother of one of my F1s is (missy's mom is F5B).
I do think that the best forum for you is one with Serval owners. It truly is a very different experience from what I have read and heard over the years. When I created the document I posted earlier, I did that with the participation/consultation of various Serval owners as I wanted to be sure what I wrote was realistic. A good Serval breeder would be brutally honest about the downsides, the attraction of the Serval they don't need to sell as it is already obvious.
