Savannah Super Cat
Hey everyone I'm Clem & I live In a small rural town In the state of Victoria & I work In Advertising & Marketing plus I have had a 20 year background In the Media & the best thing is that I enjoy all my jobs which is very Important, I briefly heard about the Australian government banning the Savannah In 2010 but didn't think much about It until now & let me say they made a terrible decision. The consultation process only took 500 submissions & the decision was also based on a false report. The thing that really amazes me is that they allow the Bengal Cat Into Australia I raised this Issue on a Facebook wall which you can view here: http://www.facebook.com/bengalcats/posts/10150557661125927.

You will find some Interesting articles on this wall including an article on how the feral cat issue in Australia is a big con job & how cats are being used as scape goats for all of our environment problems, Over the past couple of months I've done heaps of research Into the Savannah Cat & they are not the big dangerous predator that the government is claiming they are I've even joined a political party so I can write my own government bill to allow the cat Into Australia. I'm heading to the US In 2013 & I hope to catch up with a breeder so I can meet these beautiful cats & be annoyed (In a good way) buy lots of playful Savannah Kittens It's something I'd really like to experience because the more research I do the more I fall In love with these cats.

So I hope Savannah cat owners & their cats know that they have a friend In Australia who is trying to fight the government's decision In relation to the Savannah lets hope In some way we can make a difference & bring the Savannah to Australia, Give your cats a big hug for me & I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Thank you so much for your support I've also created a feature call Cat of the month where someone's beautiful Savannah will be the page's profile picture for a month I already have a cat for April but I'm always after new content for the page, We have a lot of farmers In our area who have semi wild cats in their barns which keep the mice population down as we had a mouse plague a couple of years ago & my cats stopped a few from trying to break into my house. In my proposed bill potential owners would have to pass a screening process to see If a Savannah would be the right pet for them. In my research I've noticed that a lot of Savannah owners work from home so they would only suite someone who has that kind of lifestyle I'd hate to think what a Savannah cat who didn't have another cat to play with would do on it's own if someone went to work for 8 hours a day.

The Savannah cat In my profile is the exact kind I'd love to have.

Very cool...I'm sure people will send pics to you...I now I will ;)

Many people work full time jobs and have savannah cats...I don't' think restricting savannahs to owners who only work from home is fair, JMO...it is often better to have two savannah cats, but not always necessary - it all depends on the cat. But you would not want the government to do the screening, would you?

So looks like you like the melanistic savannahs ;)

I just read the thread & I can't believe that so many states are trying to ban this breed of cat but it's typical of those people who are wanting us to live In a nanny state we already have to many laws & some of them are just plain stupid, I agree every cat has their own personality I see this with my 2 cats everyday & I agree with the research I've done that F1's to F3's are not aggressive they seem to be able to tolerate small kids very well. That's why I would like to meet some cats so I can prove that the Australian government are totally wrong about this beautiful breed of cat being a big dangerous predator & I plan to video tape my experience with these cats.
