I am very sorry that this happened with you! Sometimes misunderstandings occur and it's really sad that this happened with you.:( All of my cats from the A1 and they are great, beautiful...!!! I'm sure this very sad story will have happy end (good luck to you):) (sorry for my English)

Thanks for the well wishes.

Your English is better than mine . . . I grew up in the U.S. :)

Thanks again to all. I am spending time with the kitties and can honestly say they are very friendly and two little purr machines.

I also just got my first taste of the (in)famous Savannah saliva. The female decided I needed grooming and took care of my beard, face, and hair while I was stuck hunched over. At one point she was standing on my outstretched hand so she could lean arond my neck to reach the other side of my head. The little boy meanwile hung out on my lap.

Sorry you had such a confusing time. Glad to know that A1 Savannah's is going to make it right.

Like any business, employees can make different decisions then the owners would have. This sounds like a case of an employee not knowing which Savannah was to be sent to you? I know we are talking about live, cute, personal kitties. But humans do make mistakes. Sounds like the owners are trying to correct the problem.

Not surprised you are finding the new kitties, little purr machines and friendly.

Mystique's pedigree papers show her grandparents come from A1 Savannahs. She is a little cuddle bug! Ok she isn't so little any more. Has a beautiful personality. Her coat is gorgeous. I couldn't ask for more in a Savannah cat.

I hope you enjoy your little kitties and it all works out for the best for all parties involved.

Wow. You've been through the ringer. It sounds like you did get 1 kitten you picked out, but I know you must be devastated not to have Ice. If you do like the male kitten sent do you think you might consider a free replacement from A1 and have 3 kitties? Just thinking after all this, maybe that little male kitty might be meant for you after all.

Just to be clear Martin explained that the employee that shipped my kiten to a different customer no longer works there. He also said he was the one that packed up the two that arrived here yesterday.

If Martin keeps his promise and my money is refunded then I will happily come on here and post it as soon as I am able.

That still won't change my feelings of how this process turned out.

I can understand your feelings, but at the end of the day, the mistake was made and what is important is what Martin is offering to do about the issue. He's offered to reimburse you the purchase price and the shipping costs and that is pretty much as good as one can expect. If he also reimburses gas and time that is great, but your alternative to not shipping is keeping the cats which if you truly think they are not what you want then that would not be a good idea.

It does suck, the disappointment after all the anticipation is awful and I am so sorry.

I think the right kitten(s) are out there for you... just it is crappy that you will have to now search again and likely wait for that new arrival again...

As most peeps here know, I name all of my kittens as well...but that is my personal choice...I also know each individual kitten's wants, needs and quirks, although I must admit that when Zuri had seven kittens for her first litter and became ill, I was so stressed, exhausted and overwhelmed that I could only tell Cinny, Dracos (lighter BST) and Poseidon (huge) from the others ;) After about 4 weeks, I was finally able to tell them all apart...that was a hectic time!

I'd say for some breeders, naming them makes them harder to let go... I much prefer it if the new owner gives a name as that tells me it is THEIR kitten not mine, LOL!

While I see that the original error was not Martin's fault... the "fix" to the situation he chose (sending another kitten instead) is not quite what I think appropriate. What he should have done was call you and disclose the disaster (that your kitten had been shipped to someone else), that the new owner wouldn't give him up and then give you options to proceed from there. Offer you the kitten he did ship, or any other options he had available at that time. I'm sure he thought the kitten he did ship to you was cute and friendly hence "equivalent" but it doesn't sit right for me :-(

Since then, it does seem he's tried to work with you on return, reimbursement etc. Just it is a hard decision to send back a kitten once you have it, and maybe that was the intention....I don't know.

I started out naming my kittens, but it seemed to make it so hard when they left for new homes. So I tried with my last litter naming them non-personal, generic descriptions: big ears, long legs, big boy, etc....no difference; I still cried when they left:) I am now back to naming kittens something fun and cute, unless the new owner tells me different :)

I can only imagine how disappointing it was to receive a kitten that you did not pick out, and to find out that kitten went to someone else....:(

I'm glad A1 is trying to rectify the situation for you. I agree with Brigitte that this whole story bothers me....that the wrong kitten was shipped to you, knowing it was not the original one....maybe hoping you wouldn't notice and that you would fall in love anyway.....

On the other hand, I do tend to believe in fate and what is meant to be. Maybe the "wrong" kitten you received was meant to be yours after all....
