FWIW, a breeder who doesn't want to be mentioned here and who lets kittens go too early raises a red flag with me.

Welcome! Our Thor is the same F5 SBT, it will be fun to compare them! How old will they be once they arrive?

They will be about 9.5 weeks old when we bring them home, I believe. Our Turbo is the biggest of the litter, which means nothing, but we are hoping he will be a big boy! Targa has really great colouring in our opinon, but that could change, as she is still a little kitten!

Thank you for your concern, WitchyWoman, but I feel confident in my breeder. She is very communicative, and we have a contract in place that protects the breeder and buyer(in this case, us). I don't feel like she is a red flag, and I also feel confident in the age that they are being re-homed. If when we go to get them, and we feel as though they are not ready, we are more than willing to wait a few more weeks. TnT's health and safety is our main concern, and I do appreciate your concern for our kittens. Means a lot to us.

To clarify: I choose not to comment on this site who my breeder is, for her privacy, since I have NOT asked her if I am allowed to mention her on here. For all I know she could be on this site, but because I have not talked with her about this (when we talk it is all about Turbo and Targa, as it should be). I personally believe that EVERYONE should have the right to privacy, which is what I am allowing my breeder. She is absolutely wonderful, I respect her dearly, and I am very comfortable with the terms we have set up with her. The ONLY reason she is not mentioned on here is because I don't have her permission, which I believe is vital, and I don't know if she is on this site. We are buying in Canada, as that is were we live.

Thanks for the advice on the traveller/carrier. Our breeder bought one for us, and I'm hoping that they will be comfortable travelling together!

I'm not trying to be argumentative, and EVERY breeder has his/her own reasons/experience for letting their kittens go at certain ages. It's been discussed here extensively. Consensus is that there are important social skills and emotional development that is taught by mom cat and sibling interaction for which there is no substitute. You won't be able to judge that when you see the kittens. You'll know whether they were too young to come home if you have problems with socialization, improper elimination, digestive issues, low level of confidence and other behaviors that will manifest after they've been home awhile. We have scads of discussions here about those issues from people who took their kittens home under 12 wks of age.

And why don't you just ask the breeder if it's ok to post cattery name and kitten pictures. If the breeder has a website, privacy is a moot point.

No no no, I didn't think you were implying I was argumentative, I was trying to explain that while I couldn't keep my mouth shut (or fingers quiet), I wasn't challenging your opinion. Sometimes the written word is inefficient for communication.

And for future reference, I am pretty thick skinned and prefer honesty so don't ever hesitate to be forthright with me. (There are others on here, who shall remain unidentified, who are very tender though, so beware)

Haha, that is a helpful note! I usually read over the threads and I learn as much as I can. I don't have much I can comment on at this point, since I still have another little while to go before we can bring them home. As far as I'm concerned, the more we know about the breed(even with them being F5 SBTs) the better prepared we are if anything comes up(Goodness forbid it does).- We researched like crazy before we even thought about looking for some-

Just so you're forewarned, I have an F1 kitten, 2 adult F2s and an adult F6 and the most ill behaved and the one who causes the most trouble is the F6. He is a brat. Sweet and lovable, but smarter in a different way than my higher generation boys. If there is a crash, boom, or bang heard in this house, he is at the center of it. I have a (scientifically insupportable) theory that their personality grows exponentially the farther their genes are from the serval ancestor.

hahaha, we are more then ready. My house is starting to look like a baby is moving in... but we are just getting ready for savaannahs. No breakables anywhere. Clutter is gone. Just going to finish up, and by the time I'm done, I bet my friends will start to think we are going to have a baby. I keep reading that bored savannahs find trouble, so I'm trying to figure out what is best to keep them busy!

Is there a debated way of which savannahs should sleep? In bed, or off the bed?

Purely personal preference. Mine are bed hogs and I find myself clinging to the edge of the mattress. I've also learned how to change position by contorting myself in unimaginable ways so as not to disturb them -- because they start to grumble and complain, and the kitten thinks it's time to play.

I think I would prefer them on the bed, but that could change when they are home. Only time will tell.
