This Must be you! I found you guys on Face book, During When I Adopted him I Emailed Pics to this rescue and then either it was you or someone who helps run the site emailed the pics to other Savannah folks to try to say weather he was a Savannah. At the Time of his rescue he had very bed Diarhea and my Vet wanted to know more about what breed he was do to it being his diet. Once figuring out together we got him straight on the type of foods and meds that would be best for him. My Neighbor works at our local Zoo and takes care of the Jaguires and Ocelots and He also was great help on what would be best to feed until his system settled down and got back to normal. THis poor cat was in major digestive stress when I Got him And Was basically Pooping Blood due to extream inflamation to his digestive track. Lets just say Meow mix does not work LOL! So I guess It Was you guys that helped us!
Yes, that is us. It may have been me, we do breed IDs of a LOT of cats and if this was a year ago there's no way I'd remember! LOL!

I'd have sent the pics to the rest of our core group (there's six of us) and possibly also to a rescue list I belong to that covers other breeds including Bengals and Chausies as well as Persians, Siamese etc. Not to any other Savannah rescue group, because as I said, we don't really know of active ones. I know that the Savannah Cat Shoppe here in CA sent out a press release over a year ago saying they were establishing one but not sure if they've taken in or placed many cats.

I am glad you got his digestive tract calmed down...no Meow Mix might not have been good for him! He looks to be doing fabulously now though :)

We have a number of Yahoogroups for Savannah owners and enthusiasts, but this is the first forum. Oh there was a UK one for a bit but I think it dwindled to inactivity. When Paige started this one she was clever enough to make sure she persuaded a number of us to participate to make sure it had a chance to thrive...she's done a great job!

LOL He is a Good Listener Maybe I Could! Every night when he gets Wet food and Meds I Take off his collar off so it doesn't drag in his food, Then a hour later I tell him to get on the trunk to put it back on and he hops right up there and waits for me to put it back on. LOL he's a nut

That is a heart warming story. I don't think too many Savannahs will perform well in a shelter setting and sadly, they will be labled as vicious or unmanageable. Maybe someone had loved him once and he escaped or something and found out how cruel life can be to a cat. Sometimes they take a while to rebond to a new person and no one buy you gave him the chance.
