Mickey arrived at less than three pounds, and it never bothered him at all.
He thinks he owns the place, and since he has mike, me, diablo and Jarvis all wrapped around his paw, I would have to agree....

Well, NikkiA, I don't believe Kizzi is more than a pound now. If that. I just want him to be big enough to be able to get away from Kilifi IF NEEDS BE. I doubt there will be any problem, but I want him to have an option. Besides, he is only 8 weeks old. Patti and I think at MINUMUM, 12 weeks. Maybe longer since she will get him neutered.
But I am not too concerned...just being safe. And I am sure he will wrap the girls around his paw.

Early summer 2012 we got our first Savannah , Camille 12 week female and we really liked the kitten ,[the breed] 3 months later I contacted the breeder for a playmate for Camille and told her, I don't want a kitten that Camille will pick on ,she's a bully and the breeder sent me a list and discounted repeat buyer prices of male SV, later that week I picked up 12 week old Cody at the Cleveland airport and took him home to quarantine , Camille knew he was there and door darted one day and hissed in Cody's face , Cody turned sideways ,hooked his tail and arched and a full Mohawk, meanest look I ever seen, I got Camille out of the room and after Cody came out of quarantine they gave each other space until they bonded. I hope Kizzi is accepted by the other cat's soon.

Sounds like another great session - I'm glad things are going so well. The true test will be if Kilifi leaves your feet alone at night!

Jarvis came home at 8 weeks, which in my honest opinion was FAR too young. I didn't know enough at the time to ask for him to be held longer. I think it contributed to how long it took to make him happy in our home- and I wonder how differently it could have gone if he came home at 12 - 14 weeks as Mickey and Diablo did.

I visited Rafiki at 8 weeks and I was very glad that her breeders insisted that she couldn't go until 12. There was a huge difference in those 4 weeks and not just the size. She was definitely weaned long before 8 weeks but was not ready to leave the nest. As much as we want the cute wittle bitty baby as soon as possible....it is best to wait until the breeder who knows the kitten best decides when he/she should go to their forever home.

OK. I just realized, I have been a little biased with my girls as far as my Avatar is concerned. It has been Kiki all along. NOT fair. Zidi needs some time too. So will Regie when I get him. So I will start a rotation of Avatar picts.
