Hello Fellow Savannites

Cary what "kitty cam" are you using? And where did you get it? Link maybe? :) My furbabies are in a weird situation right now (see "I cant wait to be with my kitties again" thread for more info) and I would love to check on them without me in the room!

Awesome! Thanks!! MY boyfriend is the more tech savy of the two of us so I will have to show him and see what he thinks! I have a birthday coming up and this would be a great present!! :)

You say it can be accessed with any web browser? So could I from my safari on iPhone?

P.s. I've been keeping up with your kitty's story. Congrats on the progress and I'm sure Kilifi will come around to her new house mate!

Thanks for the support. I need it. I'm WAY too easy with my girls.
IF you have a server you can access it over the internet on any browser OR your Iphone. ( App included with the bundled software.) Otherwise, without a server, just on your LOCAL area network. ( maybe using your iphone on your own wireless...)
Up coming Birthday Huh? Well, drop the hint HARD on him. ;)
Let me know how it goes. :)

Oh I don't bother with hints.. haha I just text him and said "so a CatChat member has this cool kittycam and it would be good for my birthday!!" I bet he has it looked up and checks out other ones before I am even off work!! We have been talking about getting one for a while so we can watch the kitties and schnauzer once they are all in the same house. This just gives a little extra reason to get one sooner! ;) He's a sweetheart and loves all our furbabies just as much as me so it isn't a far stretch to convince him.

(I did add "you can tell my Dad if he asks what I want" so I didn't sound rude :p)

LOL. Samantha, you girls (wimmins) are a laugh a minute. He is a lucky guy and you are a lucky lady. 2 kitty friendlies in the same house. Actually, the kitties are very lucky too to have been found by the 2 of you.

Just to point out somethings to think about is with the cameras setup by default you will be able to view them from anywhere within your house/apartment/or wherever.

1.) To be able to view them outside your area you will need either a permanent IP address or keep up with your revolving IP address as it is subject to change frequently depending on your area and type of service.

2.) Your router will have to have port forwarding setup for each camera. If you have more than 1, then you will have to program each camera individually for a different port.

3.) Security Issues, is that if you do not set a password, or one that is too weak then you are subject to outside hackers. Recently down here in Memphis a IP camera a fellow had in his house that he used to keep up with his young daughter got hijacked and he did not realize it until he saw it moving without his control. They suspect someone highjacked his wireless network.

Before you all jump into it, you probably need to think it through. I had them with Elsa, but kept tight security on them... I will be more than glad to help you get them setup or assist if any needs or advice as I have been through it already.
