And just for all you "curious Georges", there has been nothing. Azidi will not come out from under the bed while the door is open, and so I will most likely do the kennel thing again. I am hesitant to just leave Kilifi in while Azidi puts herself in a rather indefensible position.

How long has the door been open? If you just go about your day, do you think she'll come out? Means Kilifi stays shut away but it may take a couple days of just going about your normal routine.

Yeah. That IS my worry. Poor Kilifi just wails ... she thinks she has been abandoned. SHe has always been right close to me, except when I go to work. Then she is waiting on the counter when I walk in the door wanting kisses. So it does hurt a little to have to lock her away and hear her wail. I guess I'll have to "man up" and just do it.

Yep. Sometimes tough love is the best love. Your other option is to let Kilifi out, keep the door to Azidi's room open (when you're home) and let things progress on their terms.

Open the door and let them make the decisions. It may turn out that Azidi keeps her territory small and be satisfied interacting with Kilifi in her room, at least for the time being. Time is on everyone's side.

Took a nap with Kilifi and let Azidi have the run of the house. When I got up she was out in the living room but went back in when I came out. I think we made some strides, but she is still a little shy. I'm back out, Kilifi is in the crate and is happy as long as I am there wih her, and the door is open. We shall give this a couple of hours.

I think I agree with Deborah, it's time to leave the door open and let nature take it's course. If I remember correctly you have a cat tree in the room, if so try to coax Azidi up to the top with a treat and then open the door to let Kilifi in.
