Ok Lady Azidi let me check her. No injuries. Same with Ms Kilifi. Both are back to their loving selves. I guess it was just a shouting match.
HOW can you people Stand this???????? How do you know when it is real war and not sabre rattling???

I know. It's really hard, especially when they sound like they're killing each other. I loved Rafiki's story:

Reminds me of my first Himy Mandu. I brought her into a household with an adult male cat. Goldy and Mandu would play but when I would hear her yelp, I would come running and yell at Goldy to stop. Then one day when I heard her screaming bloody murder, I quietly approached. She was on the ground and Goldy was "holding" her down with one paw. That was it. At that point I told her to suck it up! I stopped intervening and they had great fun playing together.

Ugh, not the best interaction. At least neither one blamed you for the altercation. Is there a cat tree in the room? It seems that if Azidi were on higher ground she would feel safer. She had this little single story condo that she loved hiding out in, I'm wondering if she had something like that but up high she might feel more secure. Here is one that is similar to what she had (I would have given you hers but it was ancient and pretty disgusting after all those years):

I've got an old cat tree in my bedroom. It's in pretty sad shape after 8 different cats, but maybe it would work for Zidi.

If I remember correctly, Zidi was dominated by cats in the past. Kilifi, from your description of her, is the dominant one in this pairing. In order to level the playing field, perhaps an activity that they both engage in where the focus is on the activity and not each other may help. Have you tried clicker training? They may be good candidates since they are treat oriented.

The goal would be to get the two of them sitting side-by-side and engaging with you in a simple activity such as trying to get them to touch an object (such as pencil or toy) you put in front of each of them. When they do the activity and hear the clicker and get the reward, positive associations start to be built about their proximity to each other.

She was Debbie. And I have been trying to get them to co-exist in one place without any action. The one time they were not focused on each other, they ran into each other chasing a toy, which resulted in a confrontation. I will see what I can figure out. They are getting a wee bit better. At least there are no grudges after a confrontation.

I put the old cat tree in her room. It has 3 levels, the upper is a shallow box, the middle is a flat shelf and the lower is a house. She can stand on the roof of the house and bat a ball hanging from a string from the middle shelf. She has been investigating it and has been in/on all 3 levels and has been batting the ball. SHe appears a little unsure because of all the old cat scents, but it has not scared her away completely. Kilifi slept on top when Merlin was still alive. but stopped when he died. Merlin used the house.

If the cat tree was Kilifi's domain she will probably continue to demand the top shelf, which may defeat the purpose of putting it in there, but with three levels they may just learn to live in proximity of each other.

Has Azidi ventured out of her room any more?
