Gender makes a HUGE difference! Every cat is an individual but.....the boys are more laid back (after the crazy initial kitten stage) and cuddley and the girls tend to continue getting into trouble all thier lives. Yet in spite of that, I got a girl. LOL

Girls are trouble period lol. Person, kitty, whatever! In the end, its a preference, and they are all wonderful. How long does the naughty stage last for savannahs. For my bengal it was a good year then it slowed done some. My little one is acclimating very fast now. Had him one month, and the first 2 weeks were so hard, he was so shy and skittish, 3rd week, much much better, now hes a total rat lol. SO naughty. Climbs on the top of the couch this morning and slides off and falls behind the couch, of course he cant get out because I had blocked the sides when we first got him lol. So I removed everything now since he walks the back of the couch, there is a gap because its a sectional. and thats where he ended up. Hes not hiding anymore, so no point in blocking anything.

Interesting! I didn't know that.

What if I factor this in:

My sister and I are very close, we do everything together.... So as soon as she heard I was planning on getting a kitten, she wanted to get one as well.

Her favourite breed is the Egyptian Mau, and if she was to get a kitten it would be around the same time as me.

Is there a gender pairing that gets along better than others?

Oh my goodness, I hope they didn't tip the plant over! Dirt is such a pain to clean up from carpet and even tile.

A little bit of trouble is always fun though, keeps things interesting ;)

My pots are very heavy ceramic pots, and he dug it up lol. I have hardwood throughout my house but I have an area rug in my family room and yea it got on there but was able to clean it all up. I covered the dirt with foil. So now Im thinking cayenne pepper. He does it for fun. why I dont know lol. This is such a big change. When we got him, he was so scared, skittish, nervous, scared of his own shadow. We quaratined him for two and half weeks then the end of the 3rd week, we started letting him explore the house, we closed the bedrooms and bathroom doors, and he explored the rest, and then he would sit on my dining chairs for hours and hours and not move but he wasnt hiding, but he would go eat or anything so I would have to usher him to his food and stuff. Now in the past 4 days, he goes and eats, and plays a lot and is sitting all over the place. He must be happy, hes digging up plants lol. I still put him in the safe room at night because hes still not coming to us for comfort, he comes close, but then he bolts. So I want him to feel safe and secure. So hopefully another week or so.

Females tend to be more dominant and more territorial, so getting two boys or a boy and a girl would likely work best.

Eddies

Eddies a ham!
MY HOUSE HAS SO MUCH TESTOSTERONE IN IT:cool::p:big grin::ninja:! They all get along now & altho Mojo:cool: is still ruling the roost if a GIRL :cat:cat moved in she'd bowl him over for "Boss" of the house... & all the laid back dynamics would go up in smoke...:uh oh:

Kim that's so good to hear! It must be so exciting to watch him become more and more comfortable with your home, and you!

Darn, we both were leaning towards a girl. Eddies, I too have a lot of testosterone in my house..... I have so many brothers and it would be a relief to have a few more girls in the house haha.
