That could account for the macracal (spelling?) pattern. His pattern is more typical of a domestic tabby which are striped vertical rather than horizontal spotted pattern of the Savannah.
I hope you didn't buy him as a breeder with such a questionable linage? UC Davis does a simple DNA swab test for $40 that will confirm that his sire is the Savannah stud vs. a stray. You will need access to his "father" to confirm who the father is. This would be worth it for you if he is fertile. He is an F4 A if sired by a domestic.
You can look at the thread F4s for photos of other F4s for comparison.

I do not think his stud is a stray But I wanted to ask people more experienced than me. also when you strech him out (which is hard to do) he has more spots than in the pictures and they are horozontally aligned. They are just really large and a some run together. I know the breeder he came from and I trust her.

I looked at your f4 thread He looks more wild than those I saw.

If you trust her than to do a DNA is not an unusual thing to ask is she suspects the father may be a stray. You can't tell linage by looks. As a breeder, it is both of your obligation to be honest to the Savannah community to sell cats that you KNOW they are what they say they are. These things happen. I have had litters sire by two different studs (one was a Siberian). The breeder, who is also my friend, asked for DNA to be sure her girl that she was getting from me is a full Savannah. I knew by looking at the kitten that she wasn't 1/2 Siberian. I was not offended at her request.

What happens if you just take her at her word and your boy starts throwing a cat that is black and white or white feet etc that is from the stray's linage? Wouldn't you want to be certain and not guessing? I would. It makes a difference if your boy is an A cat or a C cat?

It is entirely up to you to be a reputable breeder. To be a good breeder takes some effort. If he is an F4c than he is very valuable. I would want to know it for sure. Sorry that is my two cents worth. :-o

Hello I will do the dna test BUT Just saying that neither her nor do I think that this savannah is sired by the local tom. IT was merely a guess I threw out there as you said my f4c couldn't be fertile. You asked if he was an A generation which he would be if one parent was not a savannah. I reallly can't say that he is even fertile until a litter with a silver kitten is produced. But regardless the dan test is a good Idea I will do it with uc davis.

If the cat he has the litter with is BST you could easily get all BST (unless he is homozygous for silver).

You say you breed Bengals too though, could one of those Bengals gotten near the queen also? I know Lori has had a stud breed through wire mesh before!

papers say he is a c No bengal has been near the queen. the queen is upstairs bengal down stairs under my house. The only male cat she has been around is him. And although she has not been outside I think we have no males around because I trapped a female stray cat in heat that had been crying around our house for a month.

There have only been 2 F4C males (to date) proven fertile. Has he had any brothers who have proven fertile? When is your female due? I hope you have a wonderful litter of Savannahs and share their pics here!
