Hello from Florida<3

Hi everyone! I'm Greta, and I live in Southern-Central Florida. I've always been a cat enthusiast and have always wanted an exotic breed, but I never knew which I wanted until I stumbled upon the Savannah cats. I've been hooked since I've seen them! I've owned cats my whole life, and have fed them on a raw diet instead of bagged food, and most of my cats have far surpassed a 'normal' cat's life-span. My first Savannah will be an F2 male, and I would really like a silver or the snow leopard mutation, though I'm sad that the snow leopard doesn't appear very often. My second Savannah (I usually get my cats in pairs) will be either an F2 or F3 female, again, hopefully silver or snow leopard. I'm so excited to meet other Savannah cat enthusiasts and hear their awesome stories! Hit me up, I'm super nice <3

Welcome Greta! Glad you found this forum, and best of luck on your search for your perfect Savannah :)

I do feel very lucky Arlene. The stars aligned properly after some disappointments (which obviously were meant to happen) and now I am graced with this beautiful new boy. My wife and I just moved into a new house with a big back yard so that is what made it possible for us to have an F2. He will be getting a nice big outdoor enclosure to play in as soon as I can save the funds to build it.

Yes, I have joined the Yahoo Savannah Group. LOL!, that's funny there is another Paul with Snowys. I'll have to introduce myself if I ever come across him. I have always loved the super exotic looking cats so when this Snow Savvy came along, his pictures grew on me quite quick. :)

Paige, I sure hope Friday is here before I know it, Hehe. I have been racking my brain to come up with a name for him, but I think it's going to have to wait until I bring him home and see his true personality before I can really choose one. I'd like to find a name that really fits him instead of just a random out of the hat name.

A name that fits - I like it...I remember looking for names for Taj, after I met him the first time when he was 3 weeks old...and then my friends kept telling me Taj wasn't a good name for him - but I think it fits him to a Tee ;)

Hi Greta,
I am glad to see others interested in snow and silver. Although Silver is an excepted color (and snow isn't) many Savannah breeders find they do not sell well so they don't breed for Silver. It is a sad state that nice silvers are getting harding to find but I think, at last, there are breeders that see the "silver lining" so to speak. I am breeding for silvers and so are a few other prominent breeders. It was decided a while back that silver would represent the snow serval. Snow is not accepted I think because it also brings in the color point look with it (like your typical siamese). That may change eventually as people are sparked by the look of a snow Savannah.
BTW- I have a very special silver F3 kitten that is looking for a home. She is unique tho' as she was born with a natural bob tail so she is a one of a kind Savannah! LOL
