So I finally find some time to write here again. I agree that it is very good that everything with bonding with us and Mr Clooney went without problems. But therefore we have a lot of extra work with Satchmo now.
He behaves very dirty. When he's leaving the toilet he often decides that the second it costs to cover his crap is better invested by just running away quickly. And because only running away is too boring he always has to step in the crap first so that we can enjoy it on the carpet, furniture and everywhere else in the apartment.
It's really exhausting to always check him after he went to toilet.
He also now seems to have trouble with diarrhea. Already went to the vet who gave him an injection to push the immune system and on top he recommended to give him a worm cure for 3 days. It's fun to give him a paste that he doesn't want. I look like a victim that got attacked by a tiger. If things are not better in two weeks I have to start collecting stool samples and get those analyzed in laboratory.

Besides from that he's developing great and is very loving. He freaks out whenever I kick him from my lap. He tries every angle around me to get back up. ;)
A few weeks ago he already figured out how to open our room doors. He just jumped on the handle and voilà. He also already figured out how to reach the top of the highest cupboards etc.

For now that's my story. Focus on getting him back on track and afterwards I will upload a new set of pictures again.

I wouldn't wait 2 wks. If it's giardia or TriTrich or something similar better to know and treat now. Have a full PCR diarrhea panel run and get your answers sooner rather than later. Are the cats sharing litter boxes because if Satchmo has something contagious, you'll have to treat both cats.

I already collected samples and sent my wife to the vet because I'm out during the week. He sent her away and told her to treat him with the paste again and come back in 2 weeks. I didn't like the answer myself.
I returned today and will start collecting today again. Have to collect for 3 days so I can do it without asking my wife to do it.

We have two boxes but they seem to prefer one box that both are using. I will definitely treat both based on the results of the analysis.

Ugh, diarrhea is never pleasant. I agree with Deborah - you need to know what you're dealing with so that you can treat it effectively.

I agree. My wife already dropped samples last Monday but the vet threw it away because my wife mixed up my words "It's better than before" with only "It's better" which the vet took as "He's fine and therefore we don't need to analyze the samples anymore". Urgh.
Started to collect new samples again and will drop them there on Monday. This time he's not going to throw it away or I'm freaking out.

...or time to find yourself a new vet...

Let's give him another chance. I think it just was a misunderstanding between the involved people.
But if this happens again I will have to find someone else of course.

I tried to find some laboratories where I can send samples in myself. But they offer so much and nothing I would understand with my vocabulary that I think I'll go the vet way. :)

Is there anything that I can do to train Satchmo NOT to step into the stool all the time? That's the most annoying part of the story. Cleaning the floor 5-10-times per day incl. washing the cat is really exhausting over time.
