Hi Everyone,
My fiancé and I recently took in a 13 month old F2 male. His name is Zakai. He has what I have been told is a broken marble pattern instead of the traditional spots. He was previously living with someone that I work with. They had to rehome him because they could not give him the attention he needed because the man has health problems and his wife works all of the time. He also has a biting issue and he was spraying everywhere in their home and it was too hard for them to keep up with. We have been wanting to get an SV for a long time but we just couldn't afford it do when the opportunity came along we were very excited. We have two other domestic cats. One 4yr old male part Maine Coon named Nickeli and a 3yr old torti calico named Kalliope that we adopted from the shelter together 3 years ago. We have had him gor a week now. We vleaned out a spare bedroom and made a little sanctuary for him during his quarantine time. We are struggling a bit with him and definitely will be needing some advice from all of you! He is so beautiful and regal looking. He has tender moments when we can feed him treats by hand but most of the time he has been very moody and some what aggressive. We have been trying everything that we read sbout in your threads. He bites out of no where. We can't pet him although we desperately want to show him affection. He has only sprayed twice the first two days but has been using his box ever since. We play with him when he is interested but it takes quite s bit to get him going. He and our other kitties try to get at each other under the door. We want to make sure he has bonded with us before he comes out and gets to know them. How long will it take for him to grieve his first family and realize thst he is with us now? His previous owners had him fixed and unfortunately had
his front claws removed. We are not sure if that us where some of the aggression comes from. The couple and the breader both say he acts more like an F1. Sometimes he growls and hisses and won't let us in the room and sometimes he does the same and won't let us out!! I know this is a long post but we really want to make this work. We have already fallen inlove with him and we know it is gonna take time and patience. Just looking for some advice.

knows no strangers, Mojo
(Maine Coon baby) just wants to chew on them... relax, find treats & toys, use Feliway if it helps, enjoy what you can & let him lead the parade on his quarantine (extended)... oh & no cat nip for biters...so watch those toys!
