Make sure that he is not eating the clumping litter. If so, you may have to switch him to something else until he outgrows the taste everything stage. I had to keep Rafiki on pine pellets for 6 months until she stopped taking a bite out of everything.

This is good advice! Clumping litter eaten can cause a blockage :( Agreed with Rafiki that trying a different litter if Freddy is eating or tasting the clumping litter is a good idea....try adding another box or three with pellets or other non-attractive-to-eating litter next to your existing box and in other locations in the house.

Also considering adding Dr. Elsey's Cat or Kitten Attract Litter to the new litter...it really does work!

I heartily recommend cleaning the litterbox more often than every 2-3 poos. Box maintenance may not be an issue now but it could be as he gets older. I clean my boxes 2-4 times a day depending on how much they go. Granted I have 4 cats and 6 boxes whereas you have one cat so I've got way more pee & poop piles. Would also think about adding another box. Freddy might enjoy have a box for pee and one for poo.
