I've gotten behind on your thread, congrats on Freddy!

I am so glad to hear he is happily settled in.

At the risk of sounding like a total dork, one of the things our boys love is home made toys made from old T-shirts, filled with catnip. They smell like us & the catnip, and bags of catnip are inexpensive. Started making them when I could not sleep (total dork- tend to sew/mend when I can't sleep). I started making them when D had just come home and I was worried about the new house + the new kitten at the time.

Our boys bat them around, and play with them, and when they get battered, I see nothing wrong with throwing them away because they are things I made :)

Congrats again on Freddy :)
And don't worry about the hartz toy too much, if you throw it away he will be fine - his favorite toy is YOU.

LOL, thanks Cary :)
That's how I know you haven't been to NJ to meet Diablo, Jarvis, Mickey, Mike & me- if you had you would agree that I'm a dork, but that I'm a nice one :)

Shimmer....be very careful with the toy mice with bells on their tails. My cat was able to break the bell in half by crunching down on it. Definitely not something you want him to swallow!

I found the batter bunny toy (Drs. Foster and Smith or Amazon) invaluable when mine were kittens. When they would get aggressive and want to bite (and later while teething), these toys are great for them to wrestle with and bite. Also I could play with my hand very close to her without her thinking my hand itself was the toy.

And yes......toilet paper cores, wadded up paper, old socks......they will turn just about anything into a toy!
