Hello from Southern CA!

Hey everyone,

I've commented on a few threads on this site already (only discovered it a few days ago), but I think it would be nice to make a formal introduction.

My name is Lauren. I'm 20, and I just recently graduated from college with my bachelors degree (two weeks ago!). I am now back home with my parents, but am just job hunting, forming new friends and acquaintances, and trying to find my place in the world. I have two awesome teenage brothers, and two lovable indoor cats (an easy-going male Maine Coon and a hyper-active muted-Calico female).

I've loved cats ever since our first stray ended up on our doorstep, and a few years ago, I discovered Bengals, which led to Savannahs. I recently decided I'd really love to get one. I decided an F2 or an F3 would be a good fit, but knew I'd have to save up for an early generation SV. My parents surprised me by saying they, too, had become interested in a SV, and that they'd help me pay for one as a graduation present. They will also help pay for its care until I get a stable job (since they already pay for food and maintenance on the other cats). I am committed to keeping this cat wherever life takes me, and I hope she'll become a wonderful furry companion to me, my family, and other cats.

After checking out a few breeders last week, we finally settled on Halestone Savannahs, with Mike and Sandy Hale, here in Southern CA. They were fantastic, knowledgeable, and experienced, and I selected the last available F2 from their latest F2 litter. She's a beautiful little girl, and I have to wait until mid-June to bring her home. I've pretty much settled on naming her Vienna (like the city, not like the sausage, haha).

I'm so excited! I'll be visiting her plenty until I can bring her home. In the meantime, I'm sure I'll be spending some time on this forum, too. I've already found it to have a wealth of great information and to be full of helpful members!

Nice to meet you all! : ) If you have any advice, feel free to share, as I have a few weeks to make preparations for my kitty's arrival.

Hi Lauren,

Welcome! Glad to formally meet you ;)

Mike and Sandy are great and you are so lucky to get their last F2 baby girl! I know the wait seems long, but it will pass by quickly (or not) - LOL!

Sounds like you have great parents and will be well informed and knowledgeable by the time you bring Vienna home (love the name).

Let us know if we can be of any help. Please do not hesitate to ask whatever questions you want.

Waiting is the hardest part. You are fortunate to be able to visit her and she'll know you're her momma before she gets home. Couldn't get much better than that.

Welcome and Congratulations! Mike and Sandy are lovely people and I am sure Vienna will be a delightful kitten :)

Did you go to their house and visit them? Their neutered boy Babe is one of the first kittens born in my house :)

Welcome Lauren and Vienna! I'm looking forward to pics of your new baby...I'm sure the wait will drag for you, but oh so worth it!

Thanks, everyone! :)

I didn't get too many pictures of her because I couldn't hold her yet (Mike likes to be extra careful since she wasn't immunized yet). I'll be getting more pictures when I go to visit her again soon. Here are the ones I have. She has a lovely coat, but you can't see it all in the pictures. I took a video that's really entertaining, but I don't think I can post it on here.

As I said, more pics to follow in the next few days! Thank you all for your interest :)

I did visit Mike and Sandy at their house! I didn't see any of their males, but I saw Jazzy, Bella, and Kali (Vienna's mom), as well as some F4 kittens. I'm glad people on here know Mike and Sandy! I felt so comfortable buying from them.
